DisneylandDarren LIVE!!! From 1/11 MAGIC

Well it's been another very exciting day for me on-board the Disney Magic!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Thursday - Day At Sea

I got up a bit later today (needed the sleep after yesterday's immigration excitement!). Got ready and went straight to the Behind the Scenes Talk (no time for b/fast), the guest speaker this week was the guy who writes the "Ultimate Disney Trivia Books", can't think of his name at the moment, it will come back to me :D . Anyway it started as mainly a question and answer session, some great topics came up. People asked about the Alien Encounter makeover, Mission Space, Attraction Sponsership, the Expansion of WDW, I asked about the possible monorail expansion and various other topics came up. It was really interesting. Then he handed out paper and gave us a Disney trivia quiz with 20 questions, the questions were VERY difficult (fun, fun). The top three trivia experts were to win a copy of his newest book. I was extremely happy as I came joint second on 14 (the highest scorer got 15) and I won the book! And we all got him to sign the books for us!

After this they had another "Behind the Scenes" talk and they had the kid that plays "Beans" in the Disney Channel series "Even Stevens", he is just on vacation this week but they asked him if he would do this. It was very interesting.

Then it was off to the "Singles Lunch", I've become a bit of a regular to this, not missing one yet! Luckly I didn't go so single-ly to this as I talked fellow DIS'er dianedisney to come along with me and it was great fun!

Left the singles lunch just in time to see the Matinee show of Disney Dreams, you can't beat this show in fact I saw it twice today, I've just come from the 6:30 show!!!!!

Well I have another evening of excitement instore, I'm just about to head up for dinner in Palo's, served by my friend of course! The problem is he never lets me order just 1 of anything I always have to order 2 entrees, 2 desserts etc, no matter how full I am. Well you know it's a hard life on this Cruise Ship! ;)

I'll check in again soon!!!

It's time to Remember the Magic

Ok Darren. With all the cruises of this year and the two desserts at Parrot Cay and then double everything at Palo's, HOW DO YOU STAY SO SLIM? Oh, I know the answer. You jump up and down so you can get picked for Mouseketeers. Way to go Darren!!! A special pin and the trivia book. Congratulations! Not that you need the booK!!! I believe that you are already the master! Castaway Cay tomorrow. Watch out for the sunburn! Hey, go parasailing for me. Remember all the flack that I took??? Your last day is in a couple of days so make sure you check back in on the "family" thread. Are you flying home on Saturday?

Come home to your family!!!!!!

I'll trade pin for your pin! Yeah right! like you would give it up. I am so happy to hear you are have such a wonderful trip...Hi to Lorenzo. Any word on an interview? Are you flying home on Saturday or staying for a bit in WDW? I want to know all!!

I will try to check in this weekend but I doubt I will have time. Sad to think it is your last night! Denine and Jerry have nothing on you now! LOL!

Chat soon...

Who was the commentator on Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer? This is one show that I missed last time and I love this attraction at MGM. I can't believe I didn't go to it. I hope you enjoyed doing this. Thanks again for sharing!

Last week it was the guy who played Hades and Morty the Magnificent. He was the host for WWTBAM. He was very good. On our August cruise is was Jacqui the Cruise Director who hosted.

I was determined to get picked to be on the panel so as soon as they asked for people I started jumping up and down and waving my hands about (what the heck i'm on vacation right?), and yes I got picked!
ROFLMAO! This is frightening... I can close my eyes and SEE you doing that Darren! LOL, with about 10 feet of arms and legs flying about. Congratulations on that and the book. What a great trip.

{hugs} ~Lori

Darren - here's hoping the day drags out slowly for you. I know you will hate to see this trip come to an end. Thanks for al the trip report posts. You made us feel a little closer to being back on the MAGIC with you (except it's been hot for you and I have snow).

Have a safe trip home and if your flight changes and you have a Charlotte layover, don't forget to call and we'll come out to see you at the airport!

Hey Darren...the guy who wrote the Trivia books is Kevin Neary....is he the one who was there??? I met him once before at the Disneyana Convention in Florida a few years back. I have all his trivia books, except the new one.

What cruise staff members hosted the various singles lunches...and did many people attend them....we loved Andrea, April, Ian, John, Luigi (who left last week for vacation), SheShe, Robin. Hope I didn't leave anyone out!!! I tried to get my single DD and nieces to attend those last week but they felt uncomfortable...

Have a great last day at CC and post a final farewell tonight!!!!

Well, Darren, who's the lucky boy? I can't believe you're taking back to back cruises. If it makes you feel any better, the weather here in Toronto today is 26 degrees below zero with wind chill, and we're expecting more of the same for the next several days.

I'm the Disser who talked your ear off at the Palo brunch on the January 4th cruise, when we both had your friend Lorenzo as our waiter. You seemed to be making great progress with the napking folding, I must say. DH and I really enjoyed chatting with you, and I'm glad to hear that you're able to enjoy another magical week.

Cheers,

Sounds like you are definitely having a Great Time! Keep the information coming!:Pinkbounc

Well I can't believe it's Friday night already, the time has just flown by. Castaway Cay was amazing today, the weather was hot and sunny although the sea was quite cool (although what do you expect in January!).

CindyAnn - It's great to see you on-line!!! What great fun we had in Palo! I managed to do the Afternoon Tea there this week for the first time, I have to say it was amazing. It's a shame they don't have more slots. Of course I did the Champagne Brunch again but without such great company!

MJ - Yes, your right. Kevin Neary that was the guy, he was excellent and so interesting! The singles lunches were very popular this week, in fact the first day there were two large tables full of people (compaired to the 3 or 4 of us there was last week!), the number have gone down over the week though. As for the cruise staff that hosted them, we had:

Sunday - SheShe
Monday - April & Robin
Thursday - Ian & Darren

Have you booked you're next cruise yet!?!

Susan - I will definatly tell you if I do a Charlotte layover!!!

Bonnie - No I'm not flying tomorrow (this probably doesn't suprise you) I will be heading over to Port Orleans Riverside! I'll e-mail you as I have some great info to tell you!

Anyway, I must dash, I will try to post once more tonight, If not I will post again from WDW! I'm off to give a bottle of wine to some of my friends at Guest Services!

Have a MAGICAL Evening everyone! °o°

Don't do this to me!! I am dying to know your news!! Email as soon as you can. I can just imagine! And my imagination can be terrific! I am so glad you had 2 weeks on the cruise! Will you ever be going home??? LOL!

I am so jealous of the afternoon tea!

I'm on pins and needles!!!

Darren, you have to share your secret all your family. If it can't be posted, you have all of our email addresses!! Have fun in Orlando - hope the weather is not too cold!

I agree with Susan! Your whole "family" is dying to find out what's up. Don't forget us!!!!

Darren!!! Rebekah, as in "Rebekah & Michelle" that you ran into about 347 times on the 1/4 cruise, here.... Sounds like the Eastern was fantastic. Hurrah for being on the panel and for getting into the high tea. Michelle and I made it to the tea last week and enjoyed every bite, so I know what you mean.

Delighted to hear you're staying on in Florida--you've not posted yet--no doubt you've won the Millionaire prize at MGM and are planning your trip to New York. You may have run into Michelle's family, who were at Port Orleans through Saturday. You never know!

Hope all is well--do remind us when your interview is, and tell us about this latest leg of your dream trip!

Fondly,

Rebekah
