DisneylandDarren LIVE!!! From 1/11 MAGIC

I meant by Sunday, day two, of the eastern cruise as we head south I am hoping that the weather will warm up enough to sit outside in the sun and not need long underwear!

 Sorry about the misunderstanding. I hope that is is warm enough for you to sit on the deck and enjoy the warm sun!

Where are you? I hope you will post soon! you will have to let us know the scoop! Are you getting in good with the the cruise staff? Can they put a good word for you? Do tell!

I know you are having a GREAT time! Wish we were all there with you. I guess we will have to watch our video tape of the cruise and of the deck party with you in it and MAYBE we can make believe that we are there with you!

Take Care and have a few glasses of wine for me!

Well it's the start of another great day at sea!!! I've just come from character breakfast which was great as always, lots of spinning napkins (and of course, the breakfast handjive matey!).

Just to make you all jealous, I will tell you I have an action packed day planned ahead of me -

12:00 - Island Magic (in the Buena Vista Theatre) - A great show with the Disney characters that shows there preparation for the ship arriving at Castaway Cay (but you have to watch out for that evil Captain Hook!)

12:30 - Singles Lunch (in Parrot Cay) - I'm becoming a bit of a regular to this!

14:30 - Hercules the Muse-icle (in the Walt Disney Theatre) - I LOVE!!! this show, and one great thing about the ship being full is the fact that they are running matinee's of all the shows not just Disney Dreams.

15:30 - High Tea (in Palo's) - One great thing about doing the back to back is that you do actually get to be the first in line for Palo reservations so you do stand a chance of getting a high tea slot! ;)

17:15 - Castaway Club Party (in Beat Street) - Great fun, and of course free drinks!

More info to come...

Hi Darren! Sounds like you're having a blast! We are on the 1/25- can't wait. Just a quick question- Are they back to the soda mugs or still using the stickers?

St Thomas Immigration

Sue - Of course everyone has to go through immigration when we arrive at St. Thomas. Non-US Citizens go to Rockin` Bar D, US Citizens go to the Walt Disney Theatre. Immigration tends to start at around 6:30am and the ship will usually be cleared for guests to go ashore at around 7:30am.

From Stem to Stern - Wine Tasting

WHEN - Takes place on Sea Days usually between 2:15pm - 3:15pm
WHERE - Sessions
COST - $12 per person
DESCRIPTION - An opportunity to learn a bit more about wine. You get to try 3 white wines, 2 red wines and a sparkling wine. It is run by the 4 cellar masters on-board and they give you lots of information on the wines and about the correct way to taste wine. Also one of the highlights is that they show you how to open a champagne bottle with the bottom of a wine glass.
MY OPINION - I think this is excellent and great value for money, when I first went I knew nothing about wine and this convinced me to learn more. It's great fun and of course it gets better the more you drink!

Weather

This week the weather has been great so far. There was a bit of a breeze blowing at Port Canaveral but the skies were clear and it was very walm & pleasent. Then yesterday (Sunday) it was hot and sunny perfect sun bathing weather, Decks 9 and 10 were very busy. Saying this last week was a little cooler and it was quite windy on deck for most of the week, but still the weather was good with temperatures in the mid 70's for most of the week.

I will just go and check what the temperature is today and post again (I haven't been out-side yet :D )

Soda Mugs

Yes they are once again back to using the soda mugs, but the refilling process is slightly different to what it used to be. Rather than them taking the mug off you and filling it up themselves they will get another plastic cup, fill that up and then pour the soda into your mug. Sometimes they just give you the plastic cup so you don't even have to use your mug if you don't want!

MENUS - Excitment!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

The time many have been waiting for has arrivied. The menus are starting to change on the Magic. This week the menu for Parrot Cay has changed and I'm so excited as I am eating there for dinner tonight. They are making the changes over a three week period from what i've heard. This week the menu for Parrot Cay has changed, next week the menu for Lumiere's will change and then the week after the menu for Animator's will change completing the process.

And as they say here on the DISNEY MAGIC -

Have a Magical Day!!!

DDarryl, could you do me a favor? I am trying to contact Adrienne. She is the lady on board who gives the seminars and advise on shopping in the islands. Could you PLEASE ask her to conact me at cmdmom286@aol.com. I would be so so appreciative! I sailed with my teens on New Years Eve cruse and glad to know you are sailing calmer waters. Thank You! Celia

Dear DDarren,
I am hoping you would do me a big favor. I need to contact Adrienne aboard the Magic. She is the lady that gives the seminars and advise about shopping on the islands. Would you please give her my email address or let me know the best way to contact her directly! I would be so so appreciative! I just returned from New Years Eve cruise. Was really rough... glad you are sailing smoother waters. Thank you for your help, and enjoy your cruise! Celia cmdmom286@aol.com

I was hoping they would change soon! Any word on if the master chef, small world or captians gala menus will change?
Sounds like you are having a great time thanks for keeping us updated!

Dear Ddarren,
Sounds like your having a great time! Just one quick questions, someone just reported that on the 1/9 Wonder I guess that they stopped serving at the buffets and drink stations. Have they stopped on the Magic as well?

Thanks!! My nephew lives in St Thomas and is meeting us at the dock. I guess we won't have any problem meeting him at 9am.

It looks like my sailing, 1/25, will be the first sailing with all new menus.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise,

sue

Hey Darren, you ARE going to the "Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer" shows aren't you? Get a good strategic seat and get picked. Then you will (of course) WIN a free cruise and you can do a 3-peat! Soon you'll have a room with a permanent name plate on the door.

Darren-

It was lovely to meet you last week on the cruise! But I do think it's terribley unfair for you to be out on a back-to-back and I'm here in the freezing cold reading your messages on my lunch hour...

Have a fabulous time!!!
Michelle

Hey, sounds like a great second week! Keep those reports coming.........

Hey, glad you having such a good time. We did the Eastern cruise in March 200, and are back on the Magic for TWO weeks on 1st Feb! We found it hard to get off the ship after only 1 week too! Just not enough hours in the day to enjoy all Disney has to offer on board. Daughter is a server on board, so if you see a small, english girl struggling with a huge tray ............. be kind to her. She is probably still suffering from partying after the extra time in Cozumel last week!!! Did you manage to keep the same stateroom for two weeks? We arent sure whether we will need to change cabins. Have a great time............. I hear the carbibbean is still very hot.Yippeeeeeee:Pinkbounc

Hi Darren! How lucky for you. Back to back is something most of us dream of. Glad that you could pull it off. What about your interview? Can it be onboard? Please, check in when you get back. We are all missing you over on the "family" thread. Have a bushwacker at Paradise Point in St. Thomas for Bonnie, Joyce, Jeanne, Ted and me. Hugs and Kisses!!

Hello Darren.....just guess who is sitting next to you right now on the same board and the same cruise??? It has been wonderful talking with you on this cruise and I will see you in Dueling Pianos tonight!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

And Have a Disney Cruise

Drink Station & Buffets

Kelli - They seem to have a very interesting system for this at the moment. The drink station is still not self service they still have people to serve you all week and it is not open 24 hours only from around 9am - 9/10pm. As for the buffets (Topsiders, Parrot Cay Lunch/ Breakfast shore days), currently for the first few days of each cruise they are having people serve you and then monitoring the virus situation, if everything is fine then starting on the Wednesday morning they will turn all the buffets back to self service. I think this is because the virus tends to only last around 72 hours so if everything is all clear by this time they can be fairly sure no-one on board has the virus.

I hope this helps!!!
