New here. Just wondering if anyone is having a Disneyland wedding rather than WDW? Or had already. Fiance and I are hooked on the idea of an in-park wedding, but when we emailed all we got was an invitation to call to about pricing. Argh!
We don't want to start planning yet. One of us is hoping for a certain job that could potentially raise our wedding budget and we have our hearts set on a wedding in front of the castle. Opted out of the WDW since we doubt anyone would want to travel that far (we live in central CA about 5 hr drive from DL).
Anywho, I've lurked on this sight for a long time and finally decided to join. You seem like a great bunch of people and I can't wait to get to know you! :thumbsup2

DH and I got married at the DLR. While we didn't have an inpark event we used the Rose Court Garden at the DLH for the ceremony and had our reception at the GCH. InPark events do happen but will vary depending on the time of the year, location, and the reluctance of the FTW dept. The last I knew, the minimum expenditure for an inpark DL wedding started at $65k. An event inside DCA is about half that.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum that has FAQ info that might be of some assistance. Perhaps the best way to get an actual reply from DL FTW is to call them.

Thanks! I didn't see the sticky before, I'll go look at it. I haven't called because we're still deciding when we want to get married and are waiting for an expected promotion of sorts. When I finally do call, some day, I'll probably start a journal.

I live in Central Cal too and I'm planning on a SoCal Disney wedding in October 2010. Don't know how much an in park event will be (I'm crossing my fingers for you and the new job even though I'd be really really jealous of you if you have an in-park wedding!!:rolleyes1 ), but if you find out a ballpark price, let me know, ya?

I decided to pop on out and interact on this board too because everyone is really supportive of each other and very helpful with ideas and suggestions.

BTW -- I also used to live in SoCal, and I'm itching to move back too.

I'm getting married in the rose court garden next oct.
I wanted to go in park at first, but they can only happen two hours after park closing on mon-thurs only. So if your cool with a 10pm in Cali adventure or 12am DL ceremony- go ahead. It also had a high guest min. and total cost min. I think it was around 75k min + $200 per guest cost.

Ah. Rose Court. I think I'm going that route too b/c I really (I mean really) want that Coach. Are you getting the Coach? Do you have a planning journal on here yet?

LovinPippin- I just noticed that you're in San Jose. I'm originally from Gilroy! (Went to SJSU...). ANyways I too planned my DL wedding from a distance and had no problems! DH and I flew or drove down every other month to met with FTW or we would call and email them and never had any real issues while planning :goodvibes

My husband and I were married at Disneyland. We had an "in the park" wedding... If you are interested in the cost please feel free to PM me. I would be more than happy to share some of the expense breakdown with you... Mind you, this was two plus years ago, so I know things have changed, but I'll help where I can.
