Hi everyone!

My husband and I planned a trip to Disneyland with friends for the Halloween festivities, and just found out that I'm pregnant! (YAY!) I will be about 8 weeks by the time of our trip, so still in that extra-cautious period. Do any of you have any tips for attending DL with a bun in the oven? :) I've never been a thrill ride person so I certainly don't mind skipping those, but will the new Soarin' ride be off-limits as well? Any tips or recommendations would be much appreciated, as this is my first pregnancy! :)

Thank you so much!

There is nothing on Soarin' that a pregnant woman needs to worry about. It is basically sitting in a chair.

Congrats and have fun!

I'd think you'll want to stay hydrated, and be extra thoughtful about washing your hands often (you don't want to get some really nasty bug!) If you have morning sickness (which may not actually be in the morning), have in mind some cool places near restrooms...I'm sure someone else here has better ideas of where those are!

I went last month with my sister who was 16 weeks. We had a magical time!
Things we did/learned:
  • Tylenol will be your best friend! Her doctor told her what dosage to take. So I would say ask yours.
  • We stayed off any rides on this list: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/#/expectant-mothers/
  • She needed to drink SO much water, so we refilled using the filtered water stations often. (if she wasn't drinking enough she would get braxton hicks)
  • We used the Disneyland app to find restrooms constantly lol
  • Her making a list of foods she wanted to try, and us doing our best to complete that list, helped with missing out on some of the rides.
  • Anything sitting was great. We saw shows, and went on IASW several times.
  • Pirates was her favorite "thrill" ride she was allowed on
We easily filled two days (open to close) with many things we still didn't get to!

Omg thank you SO MUCH for this amazing and thoughtful list!! So helpful, thank you! And good luck to your sister and your soon-to-be niece or nephew! :)

Thank you! And good point about staying hydrated and hand-washing- I'll have to keep a little restroom map with me!

I went for a week when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my youngest. You can still ride so many rides! The most important things are taking breaks often to put your feet up, drink a TON of water, eat often and become familiar with bathroom locations. ENJOY! You'll have a blast!

I went with my husband when I was 25 weeks pregnant I had a great time my husband still went on all the rides he loves that I couldn't and I used that time as rest and to people watch still so much you can do despite being pregnant take it slow and enjoy it

congrats! i'm currently pregnant as well (8 weeks and counting!) and lately when we've gone, we try to do things we don't always take the time to do like pics with characters, shows, trying new restaurants/foods, and my husband takes advantage of the single rider lines as much as he can!
i haven't had much of a problem with nausea/morning sickness so far, but i keep some plastic bags in my purse just in case (haven't had to whip one out yet, thank goodness!). if you have been feeling sick try preggie pop drops, you can find them at target. mints work well also.

I am a bit on the cavalier side of pregnancy, but I went last fall at 28 weeks while pregnant with my third...and it was the first time my oldest (4) was tall enough to ride space mountain. I asked my OB, I had had 2 uncomplicated pregnancies prior, he said to do whatever I felt comfortable with. So, I rode it. Anything she could go on at 40", I rode. (note: I have a very long torso so at 28 weeks I was still barely showing. I was easily able to sit with the bar on rides, I know this is different for many women just based on how they carry.) anyway, that baby is now 10 months old and pretty excellent in my opinion :) I would ask your OB what he/she thinks if you are questioning rides, etc. If you don't care about going on rides, (or are the kind of person who would worry a lot and it would stress you out) then don't. ETA: I am also super sick during all of my pregnancies and have to take quite a bit of zofran during the whole 9 months anyway. So, motion sickness was not something I was worried about as I was already heavily medicated!
