Disneyland/WDW/Disney Cruise don't do character tuck ins?

I was always interested in this since both Knotts Berry Farm and Give Kids the World village have character tuck-ins when it's time for bed (Snoopy at Knotts, and Clayton or Mrs Merry at GKTW) and it adds a great deal of interation and memory for most kids. I haven't seen anything like that from a Disney park or cruise. I'm actually going to be taking my niece and nephew to Disneyland and Knotts soon.

Is there a reason why they don't do it? Too many kids to tend to? Entertainer protocols (they can't hold kids, as far as I know)? I'm just surprised that these places don't do it consider how child-oriented they are.

I don't know a reason, but I think on-site guests can recieve wake-up calls from the characters. So :confused3

Both knottd and gktw are much smaller operations. People sign up six months in advance to eat with characters could you imagine the rush to get this. And then the inevitable backlash because Johnny didnt get Mickey every night but Susie did.
This would be a no win for disney

Disney will also not let Cinderella give your child a gift (from you) at the table. Other little girls will want to know why Cinderella didn't give them a gift.

Also, each character can only be represented once in a location - you will never see two Mickey's at the same time - to manage tuck ins at a 1,000 room resort, you'd need more than one Mickey and the chances of the magic getting broken go up.

On the ship, there are additional resource issues - the crew is as small as it can be (its a ship) and the entertainment cast is stretched. The characters are on stage when bedtimes happen.
