Ok, just got back a few days ago from first trip to DL after many to WDW. While planning this trip I thought I would rather be planning a WDW trip. But I am very glad we did it. It is different, but similar and like everyone has said sometimes better. I loved how we could walk from our hotel (Candy Cane INN) to the parks and could hop from park to park in minutes. Did not miss herding into Resort buses, parking lot trams, monorail or the ferry just to get to a park. We loved Fantasyland and all the rides the MK does not have, Toontown is much better, the fireworks (finally saw after being cancelled first 2 days) were spectacular and Tink really gets a work out at these fireworks unlike the flyby she gets at MK. We loved the matterhorn, screamin, and space mountain was way better than MK. I did not feel as exhausted as I do at WDW. I did not like tomorrowland as well, I missed the TTA and the Carousel of Progress!! I missed Epcot and AK, but felt like I got enough of the MGM feeling from DCA and Universal studios. I don't know if I would go all the way across the country just for Disney though. We did 12 days and bought the Southern Cal city pass. We Stayed 5 days in San Diego (husband had conference there) and one night by Universal Studios.
