I don't think I've seen it this busy since going on the anniversary. SO many darn people everywhere, rude people with strollers that think you are just going to move out of their way so they can zoom by. News to you, we're all trying to get somewhere.

I couldn't take it anymore and left at 8. To my surprise, it took me an hour to get from main st, to the 5 freeway. The exit out of the parking structure was a parking lot. There was a problem with the stop light on Ball Rd. that caused the biggest traffic jam.

so glad I am out of there right now.

awwww, . Sorry the crowds got to you. You hit Utal spring break. Believe it or not - LOTS of people come to DL this week.

Hope your next visit isn't as crazy.

- Dreams

P.S. Don't get me started on people with strollers!

I'm sorry to hear that it is still so busy! We were just there the 4-11th and it was packed then too. :sad2:

..... and DCA was closed at 6:00 p.m. because of the MTOT party!!! Although it was seriously busy before then as well - and yes, I did my research, but it was still crowded...

Thank you for at least doing your research and expecting crowds! :goodvibes We are planning on going the second week in October next year, and although I know it will probably be crowded, I am going to be prepared for it and take it easy.

OP- sorry that it was so packed for you. Hope that you had a good time in spite of it all. :wizard:

I agree with you! For us, the line for Space Mountain hit 75 minutes. The ride for Buzz was 25 minutes. It was as bad as going to Disney World! :)

I was very surprised at the crowds.

It was busy on Sunday for us, but Monday was surprisingly good considering it was Columbus Day, and Tues. Wed were not bad at all. Thursday was busy again, UTA was on and Utahns were out in force. I also heard lots of Aussie/Kiwi accents.

I think if I were to go in Oct. again, I'd do the same as we did-- skip the MToT party and go midweek. Stay within walking distance. Collect FPs in the morning so you can use them in the evening when the wait times are 65 minutes for the big rides. It was still much better than Spring Break was. That was nonstop insanity.

Grrr! Sorry to hear about the traffic and it being so busy. Cant help the crowds some times. But none the less I am sure there were some good moments during your day there and those are the ones you were able to think about as you merged your way into traffic. Hopefully your next visit will be a whole lot better.

The traffic lights had the same problem last Friday (the 10th). It was nuts. Cars were blocking the intersection and it took us forever just to get into the parking structure.

Hey - I just wanted to speak up for people with strollers. I'm an extremely polite person, and I ran into two people with strollers a couple weeks ago. Why? Because the stoller is especially long and it's sometimes hard to see where the front wheel is. Also, there are people crowding behind me so I try to show them that I'm moving ahead.

Both times I apologized. It wasn't intentional and I doubt most of the people running into you are much different. On behalf of them - sorry!

last night was CRAZY busy!!! Just like Spring break!! Tues and Wed was so light then BOOM!! Th & Fri were crazy!

I have literally had the skin scraped from my ankles by a guest last year, I looked up, and the lady acted like she didn't even notice.
When I bring my nieces and nephew, I ask them if they need it or not. If they do, I am super cautious, I do understand there are people who are rude and will cut you off as you are trying just as hard as them to exit the park. But I keep a good foot and a half in front of the part that I CAN SEE of the stroller, and the person ahead of it.

Definitely still had a nice time. We adjusted by using single rider line for California Screamin', fastpass for Space Mountain and Buzz, standby for Big Thunder (listed at 25 minutes but was actually faster), and enjoying long leisurely snacks (especially the Caramel Apple Pie Apple).

The evening parade at Disneyland was spectacular. Gorgeous weather after sundown! :)

But I'll hopefully appreciate the much smaller crowds next weekend. I'll probably try to avoid Friday nights while the Halloween party closes down California Adventure so early. I've actually had much better luck on Saturdays and Sunday evenings because at least both parks are open.

We didn't encounter any long lines at WDW. I don't think we waited more than 30-40 minutes or anything.

Then again, we were smart and went to WDW in January. Our next Disneyland trip is January too. Best month for Disney parks IMO.

I agree. January is my favorite month for DL, especially at night.

Last night at DL was insane too. We were on the Halloween Haunts Tour and it was almost impossible to keep a group of 20 people together--I was on an ECV which made it even worse. And whoever planned the itinerary of the tour should have their head examined. They had us coming in from Main Street at the same time the parade was just over! Main Street was crazy--our guide tried to "cut" through the stores, but that didn't really work either. We got separated a number of times.

What was extremely annoying was it was obvious we were a "group" -- I won't tell how because I don't want to give away any secrets about the tour! -- but people kept crowding in the middle of us. We went on Snow White and this lady and her son plopped themselves smack dab in front of me! However, we were nice and showed the little boy how to rub the apple!

The tour guide took us into the fast pass line at Haunted Mansion--and again a couple tried to crowd in on us--this time, since they were visibly pushing their way in, I said to them "excuse me, but we're trying to keep our tour group together." And this lady rolled her eyes and said "Michael, I guess we're interfering with a GROUP." And we're not talking teenagers--these folks were probably in their 50's--old enough to know better and be better behaved. Come on--she had to know it was a tour. I actually parked my ECV by the front and walked in because the wait would have been very long otherwise for my friends--there were already wheelchair/ECV users inside (there's a max of 2 who can take assistive devices in). I frankly had had it by the time the tour was over and left DL immediately. That was at 9 p.m. and DCA was closing (why do they close it so early on a Saturday night?) and there were a ton of additional people pouring into DL so it was probably going to get worse. I know it's all about money--but DL really needs to impose a lower quota on attendance. It is getting to the point where it's not enjoyable when you can hardly move. And I really feel like people are just so "me me me" and don't care about how they impact others.

The other thing--that was actually funny-was how many people tried to horn in on the tour--especially when they gave out our "treats"! Had the same situation on the Holiday Tour last year--people trying to get in line with the tour members for "free" treats.

I don't know whether it's because of the YOAMD or what, but it seemed like people gravitated to our group when we were stopped in a spot because they thought they were going to get something special --but either they would get bored and leave (we had on headsets so they couldn't really hear) or the guide would say something to them.

I did decide last night that no more tours for me--just too hard on an ECV.

OMG!!! Were you there last night wearing one of those glowing green necklaces. I was at the Dia De Las Muertas (spelled wrong?) when you were there. Oh how funny!!! I wish I would've known. Brody, my DS, and I were there. Darn!!!!!

LOL--well if one of the green glowers was on an ECV, that was me! There was more than one group so you might have seen the other group.

Rats--sorry I missed you--oh well, another time.

PM me if you decide to take a trip. We can always hop down to meet you. How fun! We just took it nice and slow last night so no one bothered me much. I loved moving about thru New Orleans Square without the HUGE Fantasmic crowd!! I could get used to that.

Yeah--the funny thing was that the shops in NOS were not that bad . . . . of course, it was after hours for the Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans to be busy--which really can add to the congestion in that area. But HMH area was crazy! I've never seen the line that long for that attraction. Or Pirates--in the afternoon the line was back along the river past the Riverbelle Terrace.

I will PM you next time I go--as you know I'm leaving in a couple of weeks for my WDW trip so probably won't go until after that!
