Hi!

Has anyone here taken a red eye flight from LAX and went to the airport from disneyland? My family is going in two weeks and our flight is at 11:10pm. Disneyland forever fireworks are at 8:40pm. We don't have any bags to check or anything like that its just ourselves and a personal item. We will also already be checked in to the flight.

I am not sure how busy LAX is at night but do you think we could make it from disneyland after the fireworks to LAX and our flight in time? I know it would be close but Im wondering if it is possible.

Thanks

If you are in the park, even close to the train station, and watch the fireworks, then you'd be leaving around 9 - it will take awhile to get from the park to wherever you are parked or being picked up by taxi/limo - then you need to give yourself at least an hour to make it to LAX - even though traffic is normally not high that late at night - that could see you pulling up to the airport around 10:30 for a flight that leaves 40 minutes later - so that leaves going through security. Could you make it? It's possible - if everything went well. Would I ever take such a chance? Nope!

Possible? Yes, but I wouldn't be enjoying the fireworks knowing I had to run out of there to get to the airport. I would just be stressed. And the airport can be CRAZY at night (I almost missed my bag drop in December even though I left plenty of time).

The fireworks last 15 minutes, assuming they start on time, you can't count on getting off property before 9:15. That's not enough time to account for traffic or LAX. Assuming a domestic flight, no rental car return and not a holiday weekend I'd be wheels up leaving Anaheim no later than 8pm. If you're driving you might want to look for somewhere to have dinner near LAX, leave a little early and stop there so that you're at least in the area with a buffer in case of traffic or delays.

NEVER underestimate traffic going to LAX. I've experienced gridlock heading to the airport even late at night.

You could watch it from the PPH pool roof top viewing area. Then go right down to the lobby and crab a taxi.
Does your plane depart or begin loading at 11:10?

It would be cutting it close....

I live really close to LAX. It takes me 45 minutes minimum to get home after the fireworks, driving 80mph in the HOV lane (assuming I have no wait to get to my car and no traffic backup). The entry into LAX at night will take you at least 15 minutes or more, just to get to the curb to drop you off. If you are renting a car, add 30-60 minutes just to drop it off, process the paperwork and take the shuttle to the terminal. I seriously wouldn't risk it, because if you miss a red eye, the next flight out isn't until the next morning.
