Disneyland targeting new markets

for the first time in my 31 years I have started seeing ads on TV in New Zealand for Disneyland.

Flights to LA from NZ have been getting cheaper and there must be more people from her starting to go there and visit Disneyland and they have realised we are now worth advertising to.

Wow...amazing. Was it just for Disneyland, or for Walt Disney World and other international parks, too? They have so many now.

The ad was just for Disneyland. Not disneyworld. LA is a much easier destination for NZers to get to than Orlando.

Interestingly though the ads said to contact your travel agent to book as opposed to booking direct with Disney.

DH and I have been to Disneyland three times and disneyworld once and are planning a trip back to disneyworld with our daughter next year. We always just buy tickets through the Disney American websites as we don’t have special ones for us with deals like Canadians and people from the UK

One time I chatted with a guy from Australia at DL and he was there at the DL Hotel for about 10 days on a package. He had a really great deal that was marketed just toward the Aussies. Maybe you guys will get some great offers, too!

I’m in Alaska. They air Walt Disney World ads up here, even though there are direct flight from ANC to LAX.

I'm from Melbourne, Australia and on prime time TV the other night was a 30 second commercial for Disneyland Resort in California. Disneyland are also print advertising currently on buses around Melbourne as well. At least in Melbourne we pretty much exclusively get major advertising for Disneyland California over any other Disney Parks.

I very rarely see Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris or Walt Disney World parks being advertised. Amazing really since the Asia Pacific parks are closer and cheaper to get to. However just like you NZDisneyFanGirl14 to get to LAX from Melbourne now is so much cheaper than before and there are more daily services so makes sense for the advertising.

In terms of International Advertising I think due to location they heavily advertise WDW to UK residents and DLR to Australians and New Zealanders.

When we stayed at Hojo's in Anaheim just over a year ago we ran into a crazy amount of people with a similar accent it was a little surreal - so I think Disney's international advertising is working well!

Our first stay was at Howard Johnson too. I think it’s one of the main hotels flight centre work with in the area. We don’t use a travel agent anymore but I’d say lots of people there are aussies and kiwis

Although not NZ or Aus, I noticed a ton of foreign tourists when we visited in late January. A lot of Asian and European guests speaking various languages. I assumed that it must seem like a good time for them to visit to the US with our schools all in session after the holidays.

I'm in Western Sydney, and a fair few buses have an ad for Disneyland on the side.

There are a few travel agent deals to Disneyland in Australia and New Zealand. The two that I have heard recently are 4 day ticket for the price of 2 (helloworld travel in both Australia and ND, AU link www.helloworld.com.au/qantas-holidays-hello-disney-jan18 NZ link https://helloworld.co.nz/Special/disneyland ) and a 10 day vacation pass (10 day parkhopper only for Aus and NZ residents, AU i have seen in the Qantas holidays brochure for the USA, NZ link https://helloworld.co.nz/FlipBooks/USA18/mobile/index.html#p=29 )
