Disneyland silhouette studio...

Nope. It takes like 2 minutes to get done. I recommend going as soon as the park opens and they will hold the picture there for you so you don't have to hold it all day :)

We didn't need an appt when we got our kid's silhouettes done last Halloween-time. We just walked in. And it was super busy in the parks! I would assume that they would give you a time to come back if there were alot of other people there at the same time but I don't think that you can call anywhere to make appts. At least not that I have heard of anyways. :confused3 Anyone else?

Do they have wooden frames? The oval ones in the video are plastic, so just wondering if we missed some that are wood....

You don't have to get the frames at DL, you could get the work done, save it till you get home and go to Pennys or Sears or Michaels for a frame.

A noble thought. We had the same thought. And here we are, 2+ years later, silhouettes still in their bag, not framed, because the frames elsewhere are either ugly, don't fit, or are too expensive! :headache:

Oh my, I thought they would take WAY more time and be WAY more $$ than that!

I cant wait to get one of all my kids :) All lined up in a row oldest (6 yo twins to my youngest 6 weeks!).

^^^^^ what she said! The cheapstake in me thought I would just buy the frames when we came home, but so far no luck! (2 years later also!)

Just buy the ones in the park, I could kick myself since they weren't even THAT expensive (well, in the context of Disney-spending at least!) and they were just perfect!!!!

I should have just bought the frames as well. I haven't even looked at frames for them, they are just sitting in a bag as well.:rolleyes1

Yea...the frames are only $9.95 each plus tax but they are just so perfect for the silhouette cutouts. Also, AP holders can use their discounts on the frames but not on the artwork.

We had this done, walked in and they were just finishing up with someone, our girls were next and we were finished and out of there in about 10 minutes. We did not buy the frames there, we came home and purchased a frame at Target (on clearance for about $10 tops) that had a mat around the picture area, we put silhouette pins around the girls picture and it looks amazing. :) It's one of our favorite souveniers. No appointment needed, and it's a great remembrance of our trips. :)

Definitely. Or as my brain wants to say...."word". :upsidedow

Next time we go to DLR, or if they have something similar at WDW, I think we're just going to buy some frames.

That's a great idea Pixiewings71. I think a lot of people look for perfect fit frames when they could of just got a size that fits and put matting behind it. I have done this a lot and when you have a grouping of these it looks like it was planned.

We were also able to get our daughters' silhouettes done in about 2-3 minutes without a wait. Like Molly, however, I knew that without buying a frame, our lovely little picture would sit in a closet for years before I got around to finding a frame. Yes, the frame is plastic, but for $9.00 I've had the picture sitting on the mantel for the last year instead of gathering dust somewhere. Maybe one of these days I will find a wooden frame in the same style, but in the meantime I have this...

I'm so glad you posted this. I never knew about these. I sure wish I had known so i could have taken dd's as a toddler. I plan on getting dd11 on our next visit.

Going shopoping tomorrow. What size frame should i look for? Does everyone get oval frames for these???

its $9.00 right is it $18 to get two sillhouettes in one portrait?

When I was about 4 or 5, my mom had my silhouette done at Disneyland, and I looked at that picture for years growing up. It's still in her house, and I see it whenever I'm over there. A few years ago my wife and I had ours done, and my wife said we could get a different frame elsewhere, but I insisted on buying the one at DL, because that's the frame those things belong in. I couldn't even consider having our silhouettes in a frame that wouldn't look like the one I grew up looking at. Had it been $30, I'd have probably paid that, but I wouldn't tell the folks at Disney that.

I am of the same mind to buy the frame there because I to would love to have the Disney frame with the Mickey ears in it.

I do love:love: Pixiewings idea though with the pins...:confused3

I guess we will just keep all ideas in mind and when she is getting her silhouette done then we will decide.

Pixiewings you always have great suggestions, thank you! :worship:

So does everyone else on the DiSboards for that matter! I am glad I found this forum! It has helped us to plan what we hope will be a great Christmas:santa: DLR trip!

24 days!:dance3::thumbsup2:goodvibes

Sure...the way the OP said it though, it sounded like they may have wood frames at the Silhouette Studio, that's what I was asking about. Wanted to make sure I didn't miss them the last time we were there. :goodvibes

Thank You So Much for Posting the photo 3TinksAndAnEeyore! I WILL be getting the frame at the silhouette shop, well, I am 90% sure I will :)

I'm thinking that it will be more of a treasure if it has the actual DLR frame and something (like the OP said) that when my kids are older and they get one for their own kids, that they can get the same frame (or one really similar).

So Excited for our trip!!

I am more of a square/rectangle frame person than a circle/oval frame person. :) Before I had the silhouettes done I knew I would want them in a simple black square or rectangle frame. I picked them up at a craft store during a Buy 1, Get 1 Free sale. The frame itself is kind of an odd size...6 1/2 x 8 1/2.
