Disneyland silhouette studio...

they look amazing in those frames!! Darn it now I am only 50% sure about the oval frames, lol.

Any idea have thoughts on what age is best? And I see you can do double silhouettes in the same frame? I have a 3 year old and 7 month old.... I am looking for opinions on if I should wait until they are a little older? And combining them into one picture.
TIA

I had DD's done June 09 and it's still in the bag too. Wish I would have bought the frame.

Do you all get one every time you go for your kids? Wondering if we should do it again. DD had just turned 2 when we had her's done, she's now almost 3.5. Should we get another one? Decisions, decisions.... :)

It takes almost NO time, I wouldn't necessarily wait at all.

We've only done it the once so far. I was disappointed in our person b/c she made DS's silhouette...well, I'm just not sure she was looking at HIM, because it looks quite a bit like Christopher Robin, and he doesn't look like that in silhouette. Ended up looking very generic. So while I'm a big proponent of the place, I don't think I got a good artist, LOL.

But we definitely might do one at WDW on this trip! Maybe he'll look like him, not C. Robin. :upsidedow

Look for Sylvia! I had seen her work online before we went, but we waited 'til our last night before getting them done. We didn't get Sylvia and ended up with 2 of the 3 silhouettes having the "random child" look. :rotfl: I still love them though.

Thanks for the name

Thank you! I know some people might have an issue with the oval shape that comes naturally around the silhouette, and then putting it in a non-oval frame. But I didn't. :goodvibes

I had my first silhouette done at the age of 7. We lost that somewhere over the past years, but my parents had me have mine done again when i was 12 years old, it was 1977. My partner and I had it done last year together. While talking to the older woman who did our portrait, I talked to her about having it done back in 1977. She said it was her and another woman who did them at the time. There's a chance that the woman who did mine when I was 12, was the same woman who did ours last year. Would love to be able to know for sure. She said if she saw the portait she might be able to tell.

I have them both up in our Disney guestroom. One of our favorite souviners. Takes only minutes to do and not a bad price considering how much we pay for everything else around the parks.

Yes, that would be my reason. But if I had three to do all at once, I would have considered the non-oval frame, b/c then it looks on purpose! But I kept thinking that it would look random and accidental, to do just one. Such issues I have....:upsidedow

How cool is that?

I am of the same mind to buy the frame there because I to would love to have the Disney frame with the Mickey ears in it.

I do love:love: Pixiewings idea though with the pins...:confused3

I guess we will just keep all ideas in mind and when she is getting her silhouette done then we will decide.

Pixiewings you always have great suggestions, thank you! :worship:

So does everyone else on the DiSboards for that matter! I am glad I found this forum! It has helped us to plan what we hope will be a great Christmas:santa: DLR trip!

24 days!:dance3::thumbsup2:goodvibes

thank you so much. :) That just made my day. :)
Definitely ask for Sylvia, she did our girls and it looks very much like them! :)

its $9.00 right is it $18 to get two sillhouettes in one portrait?

It's $9 for each silhouette so you can definitely have multiple people in it. If you want, you can even add a character in it (i.e. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, etc). They have a book of Disney silhouettes that you can choose from but those seem to be the most common ones. I've seen them do up to 3 silhouettes per picture...not sure if they can do more than that though.

Pixiewings7 - I absolutely LOVE this!!!

Are the pins from DL too? They are perfect in that frame. How wonderfully creative.

Pixiewings71...Wow! What a great picture with the pins and the frame...super creative! <3

Way to go mom! :)

I am showing this to my DH and we are going to have to weigh our options b/c I am NOT creative like this!

Thanks everyone. :) Yes the pins are from DLR/DCA as well, we traded for them all. There is actually another set, this is sets 1 & 2, set 3 is Pooh Bear pins, there are 7 of them. The Pooh set wasn't out when we did this frame and now if we try to change it there will be pin holes in the mat so we just left it alone. :) I still think this is one of my best ideas to be honest, we were trading for the pins and I thought how neat it would look so we did the girls silhouette at the same time. We got lucky on the frame but it did turn out really well if I do say so myself. ;)

Any examples of how adult silhouettes turn out? :confused3 I have one my parents got when I was 8, and was thinking of dragging DH to get ours when we go.

I saw adult silhouettes in the shop, they looked great as did the others. They even had a Lady & Tramp with a string of spaghetti, the Lady & Tramp were in separate frames and the spaghetti piece went between them, it looked so neat!! We wanted to get our dogs done, they said they could ANYone or thing with just photos!

Here is the double silhouette of my wife and I. I may have paid for two, I'm not sure. Anyway, it was less than $20, including frame, and the lady wouldn't accept a tip.
