I am bringing a group of newbies to the park at this time. Hearing that the crowds are not bad - but we are doing Friday night and Saturday, conference schedule is dictating (not my idea). What can we expect?

I need to get them on the most rides with characters I can - but I want to see the new items since I've been there last (ST, WOC, LM - and I've never seen the holiday versions of HM and SM) This is going to be a challenge - do you think crowds will cooperate?

A Friday and Saturday are always going to be more crowded than other weekdays because that's just the typical pattern at DLR during any time of year. September 16th is the first day of Halloween Time, so that, too, will automatically bring more crowds, because people always flock to the opening day of any holiday season just for novelty's sake, to see if anything is new or different than the year before in terms of decorations, treats, merchandise, etc. Remember that Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy has not been open since October 31, 2010 and the last time anyone rode Haunted Mansion Holiday was on January 2nd of this year. So people who absolutely adore both SMGG and HMH will be excited and anxious to come to the parks on 9/16 and 9/17 to ride their favorite holiday rides!!

With that said, even though it will be more crowded on 9/16 and 9/17 than on a non-weekend or a non-holiday season start date, I don't think you have to worry. There will be some crowds, sure, but it probably will not be scary, ominous crowds that are unbearable. It won't be a 'slow' or 'quiet' weekend, but it will be manageable.:goodvibes
