Disneyland Secrets

Here is a copy of Walt's death certificate. Not a good photo, I know, but in the upper right hand corner you can see he died at 9:30 A.M..

I also did not know that Walt's parents were Canadian. Explains why he was such a nice guy LOL.

This thread has been so much fun to read. It will make my next trip in March so much more fun .

- on the jungle cruise tip, the initial layout of the park had the jungle cruise on the right side of the park, not the left but had to be moved to its current position because of the vegetation that was left (mistakenly in the wrong spot).
I believe i read something about this. The Eucalyptus trees behind main street form one of the 'walls' of the jungle cruise, and are left overs from the original grove that was on the site of the park. They had intended to use many more of the original trees and had gone through the effort to mark the ones they wanted, but apparently the bulldozer driver was color blind and didn't see the markers. They couldn't stop him in time and were only able to save a few of the trees.

Just posting to subscribe and say that this is an awesome thread!! Thanks to everyone who's posted tips and tricks for all of us newbies :)

I've seen photos of people meeting the cast of the Aladdin show. How do you do that?! :D

I'd like to know this answer, too!!! Maybe they were VIPs?

I would like to know who plays Genie.....or how many people are playing the role....

The DCA wharf's water bay(Next to the paradise pier lagoon) is actually the water from grizzly river rapids. the water is pumped into the ride causing the water to drop down to look like a tide pool area. When the ride is shut down, the water rises by a good 6-7 ft.

What fun to re-read this thread as I get ready for our trip in a few days.

It is really fun to find new things to see when you go on rides. It keeps all of us entertained.

Anything new since new attractions have opened / will be opening?

Not many people have noticed this. At the Star Tours entrance in the silver sign above the door. Inset on the metal is a nod to George Lucas. It's above "STAR TOURS" on the top of the rim.

Here's one I learned about the Sensational Parade ~

Instead of Hidden Mickeys they have characters from other movies on the floats. For example, on the Tiana float is Evinrude from the Rescuers; also, Professor Owl and the Canary Sisters (Singalong songs & some older Disney cartoons "Toot and Whistle", "Plunk and Boom") are on the Mickey float, I believe.

Big thanks to the person who posted the picture of the Eeyore sign in Indy. I've been looking for it for years, ever since ex DH bought the hidden Mickey book and it was mentioned, but I'd never been able to see it. Turns out I was looking for the wrong thing too. :headache:

Also, they're used to be a bit of green glass in the cement by the R in the old California letters in front of DCA that was a Mickey head.
