Disneyland Secrets

There are professional alpine mountain climbers who climb the Matterhorn each day, and a couple of times a day Mickey makes it up there, too, to place a flag at the top of the mountain.

The general public can go up the mountain in specially made bobsleds - but they come right back down again. :)

A high school in my town was banned from Grad Night because students tried to climb the Matterhorn.

I'm also interested in why the clock is stopped at 4:01 in the castle. Anyone know? :confused3

Okay, so not really a "secret" per se, but I always find it bloody amusing...

In the MuppetVision pre-show area in DCA, there is a large net hanging from the ceiling containing many colored blocks of foam. (They are supposed to be Jello.)

GET IT??? A-NET-FULL-O-JELLO!

(Say it a few times out loud if you don't... think original Mickey Mouse Club as a hint.)

Always makes me laugh.

Thurl Ravenscroft (who recently passed away last month) was the main vocal on Grim, Grinning, Ghosts (the song in the graveyard). He was also the voice of Tony the Tiger (Frosted Flakes).

Mr. Ravencroft also narrated the DL Haunted Mansion record, which I believe is the same as the flip side of the "Trick or Treat" record.

OMG!!! I love that!!!! I will being saying it over and over next time I'm there and laughing to myself afterwhich I'm sure everyone will be staring at me with a blank stare like I'm an idiot :) Oh well - I think it's great!!! :rotfl:

In the queuing line for Indianna Jones, deep inside, in the middle of all of the bamboo poles, there is one that looks a little crooked. Pull on it hard, and the cavern will boom like a cave in. First time someone did it, it scared me to death! :lmao:

This post was posted in 2006... anyone been lately and know if this is currently working?

It was as of February. I'll be there this weekend, so I'll let you know if there's any change.

Whew!! I just read through this entire thread, if I missed it somewhere, and this is a repeat, I am sorry.....BUT

On the Tower of Terror ride, when you see the family of ghosts, the little girl is holding a Mickey Mouse doll.

I just noticed that last time I was on, although I've been on many times.

I noticed something cute at Disneyland on our recent visit that I didn't see listed in any of the "secrets" threads (unless I missed it somewhere!):

When you are walking from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland, between the Finding Nemo lake and the Matterhorn mountain, look across the lake and you will see 3 animatronic seagulls sitting on a buoy. Watch them for a minute and they will turn their heads and open their beaks and squawk like real seagulls. If it's crowded you have to listen carefully because it might be hard to hear them over all the people noise!. It's one of the little things that's so easy to miss but gives you a little thrill. :wizard:

And just like in the movie, they squawk, "Mine! Mine!"
