From Mouseplanet.com:
…There is some rumbling of a Fantasmic Special Edition for the long-running shows 15th season in 2007. The Entertainment Division is said to be bouncing around several interesting ideas. This could coincide with a remodelling of the French Market restaurant we also hear is on the drawing board for 2007.

…Rumors of a Cars-themed attraction continue to crop up. Though the latest one heard moves it from being a DCA E-ticket to being a retheming of Autopia at Disneyland when the Chevron sponsorship of that ride expires in 2008. The rumormill is still consistent in putting an Incredibles-themed flying roller coaster in part of what is now the Timon parking lot.

…Rumors also are also saying there is a Woody (from the Toy Story movies) dark ride on the drawing boards. It would theoretically go in the area behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and help fill the transition between Frontierland and Fantasyland. As all these rumors indicate it would be a good thing if other rumors about improvements in the relationship between Pixar and Disney are true.

Considering that Pressler and Harris were what had "happened" to DL prior, I think we all agree Ouimet and team qualify as the best in awhile.

Beyond that, we'll have to see what actually happens over the next few years before we can say more than just that they are better than what we had prior.

It is looking great.

The question is, will the upkeep continue beyond the 50th at the same level? After all, this isn't the first time there's been a massive sprucing up campaign.

Beyond that, what IS the long term plan for DCA? Which of these rumored attractions (or others) will actually come into being at either park? Mouseplanet has been reporting rumors of brand new attractions for years now, and the key word has always been "rumor".

What's more, there is the issue of the strategic direction as put forth by Burbank. One which emphasizes marketing and promotions over capital investment.

The point being that what has happened over the last 2 years has been more positive than what was happening prior, but the road ahead is a lot longer and more difficult than the road behind. Before declaring Ouimet and company "the answer", I think its reasonable to see how things play out. But again, they are better than prior park management, and if that's the only point you're making, consider it conceded.

It's the month before the end of Disney's Fiscal Year. Of course there's a flurry of attraction rumors. there always is. People trying to hold on to their jobs. Lets see some ground broken.

I've always thought that they should build a Woody dark ride. (Even tho I would like to see it at WDW's Frontierland) I just think it makes sense with his pal Buzz just around the corner in Tomorrowland.

I personally don't think either makes sense when looking at the "story" of Disneyland and Disneyworld, but nobody's cared about that in so long that I can't manage to be upset too much.

I do care about the story of Disneyland and Walt Disney World, but I don't really understand why the Buzz and Woody attractions don't make sense in the parks. Just curious on everyone's take on this.

Because Buzz and Woody belong in fantasyland along with the rest of the Animated Characters. At least in DL Splash Mountain isn't in Frontierland (technically)

In the old days, isney Characters were for fantasyland and the other lands were about True life adventures, History, Tomorrow. Concepts above and beyond the cartoon characters. Now, rather then maintain the story of the lands, they're just putting in synergy wherever the heck it could fit.

Also, Scoop, 9 years ago, DL got Indy, I'd say that's better for the park then Ouimet.
