Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Hmm, it shows Pirates, as well as HM and IJ. Yay, 3 of my favorite rides. Yet their dining page doesn't allow you to make reservations for Blue Bayou. This despite the announcement that BB will serve alcohol. Just a matter of the web site not fully updated? Or will the restaurant actually be closed?
Dining can't be booked until the 22nd, so I'm guessing the website isn't updated yet.

On the website, Buzz is closed through June 25th, Jungle Cruise and Matterhorn are closed through June 28th.

Thanks for checking the website and getting/sharing the actual (current) end dates! I specified the dates I gave were from the app because I know they usually go beyond that when they go up to the last day of the app calendar :yay:

Okay this is my very first post! I’m wondering what you all think would happen if you buy, let’s say, a three day ticket. Then, when you get to the reservation step, only 1 or 2 of your trip dates are available. What if the next available date is more than 13 days after you will first use the ticket? Do you think that tickets will still expire 13 days after first use? My friend is worried about this and is thinking of buying 3 1-day tickets as a workaround to ensure she doesn’t lose out on the value of her tickets. But it seems like Disney will have to come up with some solution for this?

Multi day tickets will no longer need to be used within 13 days.

The WDW solution was to send you to Epcot, which is huge and still a park. I think it even worked during spring break. With DL having such tight capacity, it’s a problem I’m worried about too. DL is a one time deal for me.

Is that a definite thing? DL says it still exists for existing tickets:

"Unused non-promotional single day tickets that expire on December 30, 2020 or March 31, 2021 will have the expiration date extended to December 16, 2021. Wholly unused, non-promotional multi-day tickets that expire on January 12, 2021 or April 13, 2021 will have the expiration date extended to December 16, 2021, and the ticket will expire 13 days after first use or on December 16, 2021, whichever occurs first."

Based on that, I think it is for multiday tickets that have already been used for at least one of those days, because duh, they are way past the 13 days of first use.
But it sounds like they are holding to the requirement for tickets that are first time use.

I have a bunch of single days that I want to go, some within that 13 day window, but I too am afraid of not getting the dates I want. However, at the moment, I do not even possess a ticket, so I need to wait until the 15th to see how this is all going to play out.

So when I look at official verbiage, I see it stating that only CA residents will initially be allowed to visit the parks, but nowhere do I see that only CA residents will be allowed to use the reservation system. I know it mostly doesn't matter, but for those folks who have June/July trips planned currently, I'm wondering if we will be able to make park reservations on day one with the hope that parks will be open to us by the time of our trips....again, I guess we will soon find out. But anyone else see anywhere where it states that only CA resident status required for park reservations? Obvi, this could be a huge annoyance if non-CA folks take up early reservations that are really only usable by CA folks....just pondering over here.

Yep - they (basically) killed the 13-day restriction on multi-day tickets that were used once within the timeframe of the park closing. But it looks like they're holding fast on it for unused tickets.

I'm not sure if DLgal was guessing or she's got some kind of inside intel, but I certainly haven't seen it mentioned anywhere about removing it for new tickets. (Not out of the question, and would make some sense; just haven't seen it announced.)

My bad, I was referring to partially used tickets. PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED unused tickets will have the 13 day restriction, however, I have heard that NEW ticket sales for multi day tickets will no longer have that restriction and will simply have an expiration date.

If it were me, I would just make the reservation. I think it's safe to assume by June 15th (if all continues to go well) that's when we'll see the travel advisory dropped which prevents out of state guests. If your trip dates are before that, who knows... You can always cancel it and re-schedule it if you need to keep pushing your dates out.

Oh absolutely--I'm just wondering if the reservation system will LET me make the reservation. We have a little cushion, as our reservation at VGC is 6/27-6/29. I will def ATTEMPT to make the park reservation--just don't know if the system will allow it. We'll be at VGC those dates regardless, but would love to be able to use our tickets and actually go to the parks.

It doesn't sound like they're going to put any technical restraints on the park reservation system to stop out-of-state people from booking - they put out some guidance earlier this week that indicated as much. It sounds like they're going to do what the other parks are doing and make you check a box confirming that you are a CA resident before completing the process, with warnings that only CA residents are allowed admittance. So it might just come down to how comfortable you are with that.

Are we talking making reservations or buying tickets?
