Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Not all the threads are permanently shutdown, I think they just temporarily locked them until a moderator has had time to review any reports they've had. I think we're short some moderators on this end of the DIS. The main superthread probably just needs to be cleaned up so it's only official info and it'll be reopened.

I understand they aren’t closed forever. But due to the moderator shortage, who knows when they will be reopened. That topic of conversation clearly upsets people and causes them to report it. It would be nice if everyone could keep on topic so this last super thread does not get shutdown, as well. Especially during a time when information regarding reopening is rapidly coming out/changing.

Agreed. Might also help if people stop reporting just because they're mad when a DIs rule wasn't actually broken either. The ignore button works wonders! I think anytime a report gets generated the mods just auto shut it down until someone can look.

But I also think you can't tell people they can't talk about the out of state restriction here- if we can do so kindly it's absolutely relevant to this thread. We've been talking distance limits on this board since October when the state first said it'd be limited to folks in 120 mile radius.

So let's play nice and start moving forward!

I'm thinking that in the spirit of getting back up and moving and getting the CMs back into the groove of things they will not only keep capacity low but probably only open to CA residents for at least the first few weeks. But things are looking up on all fronts and I believe that we will all get a chance to get back to DLR soon- in or out of CA state!

Yeah! Good things are coming....

Now just tell me when Avengers Campus opens so I can tell my 11 year old Marvel fan to stop harassing me daily for news... "Mom is there a date yet? What about now? Now? When?"

And I actually thought my post was reiterating what everyone’s been saying! CA makes no sense, try not to let it get to you! Things will get better!

Mine, too. I thought I remember them saying Avengers Campus would be ready to open when DLR opens. But maybe they are holding off for when they can allow more people in. It’s going to be a huge draw.

That's what I'm thinking.. larger capacity probably factors in too. We were supposed to be there opening week last year so my kid is like READY.

I'm guessing late summer is what Disney is hoping for? If things continue to trend downward so fast I think it's achievable!

41 days until Disneyland reopens. THATS whats important, the gates will be reopening. Can we just focus on that and NOT who can and can't go.

Can we celebrate the reopening and just be happy that it IS reopening.
Omg I haven't started a countdown yet! Thank you for providing the days left so I don't have to do the math🤣🤣 I'm gonna go ahead and start laying out my outfits and ears!!!!!!

So now that I know trams won't be running, should I still plan to park in mickey and friends OR (and hear me out), should I plan to pay for parking in downtown Disney by arriving as early as I can an lining up at the gate early? I would like to be the first group on a ride for the first time ever lol

Well what I would do is first check what times they open and park in whichever one opens first. I would also check the opening time and cost at Anaheim Gardenwalk. Out of the 3 I would pick which ever opens first.
I would also do a trial run, between now and April 30 and time the walk from Mickey and Friends to the esplanade.

I could see them upping the cost of DTD parking because I'm sure there's going to be other people doing exactly that :rotfl: . Maybe going back to the way it was with being charged by the hour? But maybe a return of the validation too.

Honestly I think the only way to guarantee you could get in line early would be to stay at a hotel in walking distance.

That's a good idea. I wouldn't be able to do a trial run, I live 6 hours away, but I'll ask around and see which one tends to open earlier!

Very true. I mean, it won't be a terrible thing if I can't be the first group, but it would be a nice mental souvenir for sure!

For those who feel it important to criticize and comment about moderating on the DIS, it might be wise to review the site Guidelines we all accepted and agreed to follow when we registered for DISboards.com

From those Guidelines:
9. MODERATORS
The DIS has a wonderful group of Moderators who have volunteered to assist our visitors and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities are ensuring that our guidelines are followed which may require that a thread is edited, deleted, closed or moved. If these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to admin@wdwinfo.com. Any discussion about a Moderating decision that takes place on the boards could result in an infraction.

Moderators and many Webmasters are unpaid volunteers and have personal responsibilities that require real-life attention. If you feel a "Report" is not being attended to as quickly as you'd like, please feel free to send your concerns directly to admin@wdwinfo.com so that all of the Webmasters can review the concerns. Those emails will receive a response when/if deemed necessary.

The number of "Reports" outright rejected, since the post does not violate any DIS Guideline, is overwhelming most days. Very few of the reported posts come from multiple posters and each day most come from just a small number of posters who report multiple posts daily - some for multiple forums.

Thanks in advance for your consideration going forward.

But we need to know why they're getting locked - we're all in the dark as to the specific problem, so we keep unwittingly repeating the same infraction.

has anyone else read anything about the safety in Anaheim near the resort? Get Away Today had positive things to say while Mice Chat reported some pretty awful instances of crime (especially with CMs walking to work) due to the influx of the homeless.

Do you know which MiceChat article talked about crime? That is really interesting and not something I had even thought about.
