Our 7 day rolling average is below 7 per 100k as of Saturday's numbers. It's been steadily coming down for weeks.

I hope so, the calculation I had was 8.2. I like yours better. ETA - Just did the rolling number from 2/27-3/6 and come up with 6.9! Let's hope CA sees the same!

Which variant? The CA one that we have had since last October? Or one of the overseas ones? The UK one has been here since December, if I recall correctly. They are talking about a new "hybrid" CA/UK variant, but that was discovered almost a month ago. I would imagine if it was SO much more contagious, we would have seen a spike by now, rather than a continuous downturn in cases and hospitalizations.

Both variants actually - and it takes time in doubling and replacing the prevailing current covid positives. It's raising gradually over the past month and will continue to do so. Our modeling has it becoming the predominant covid in April just as we reopen tiers more. This is what some of our models are predicting in San Diego and what's been happening here tracks nearly the same with OC over the past year.

Some models even have us popping back into purple after a brief run in Red tier. --- the big unknown is the ability of vaccines pushing out faster and getting into the populations that are the primary spreaders (young working, social families).

My prediction is that by the time they are ready to actually open, OC will already be in Orange tier.

It seems that the out of state visitor restriction is solely tied to the CA travel advisory. I wonder what it will take for that to be removed? Any CA folks know if he's set some kind of 'goal post' for that?

Getting to orange tier on 4/1 would be cutting it close. Doable but it'll be impressive to get there by then. But DLR hasn't made any announcements on timing of reopening yet either.

I'm thinking May 28. My daughter says by May 7. (I think she just wants to go, but could be.). Big thing is all employees will have to be recertified on their rides (remember, this could be 3-5 rides per person as they usually train for a land, they will have to be trained on Covid protocols, and all sorts of other things they haven't encountered before. With the union, they have to give employees 2 weeks notice to return to work if I remember correctly. First to come back will be managerial so they can make schedules for those to come back and train!! They are still working on getting people back for the ToD.The ones back and training are excited to welcome back their teammates. They celebrated when they heard last Friday! I can't wait!!

Idk if I'm late to the game but tickets for avengers campus are live on Disney's website of course when you click the ticket link it takes you to another Disney page, but still, never seen this before..https://disneyland.disney.go.com/destinations/disney-california-adventure/avengers-campus/ I REALLY hope this bodes well for reopening timeline!!!!!!!!! Also, I hope they don't debut it during touch of Disney because I would be upset that i didn't try and get tickets.

They will absolutely not open on April 1.

If you look at the link on the page, it's just the general ticket link. Which if you click on it, it just redirects to the operations update page.

No way would I think separate gate/admission. More likely it's just saying "hey, want to go here? Have to get a ticket that gets you into DCA!" (based on the fact it shows it's in DCA and gives a link for park hours).

So, apparently OC may move into Red tier sooner than March 17. If the 2 million vaccine dose goal is met, any counties who had the "new" red tier metrics for the prior 2 weeks would be allowed to move into Red tier within 48 hours. This would include both OC and LA counties.

We are very close to hitting that 2M vaccines goal. It is expected to be reached this week.

Speculations about the reservation system? Will they sell tickets before opening reservations or do you think it will be a process where you buy the ticket and can make a reservation at the same time? I'm hoping the latter.

I, too, hope its the latter. I don't want to buy tickets if I cannot get the day I want to go. Also, do you think they will open the hotels at the same time? If so, will they open reservations for the hotels first?
If they are not allowing out of state visitors to the park, it seems to me that tying park reservations to hotel reservations is probably the only way they will fill the hotels. So I wonder if they will do that?
