Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Please spread the word to CMs who might need to hear this:

Hmm 🤔 I wonder if the trolley will be allowed to run when Buena Vista Street opens? It’s technically transportation right?
Technically, then, so is Peter Pan, Mr. Toad and Space Mountain ;-). JK.

Have you been going to DTD on Sundays recently? That’s usually when I’m there. If so, keep an eye out for me. I’ll be the guy trying to incite other guests to mount an early-morning assault on Buzz Lightyear. “Who’s park?!” “Our park!” ;-).

Will Disneyland Paris open up as well? Do you really think every country is locking things down because they want someone in the US to win or lose an election?
I could be wrong, but I think the post was about Disneyland in California/Anaheim, not Paris. When not specified with a country/city, Disneyland usually means Disneyland in the US. Does it not?

I sent an email today to Disneyland through their website asking about how one can go about getting a ticket refund. In the email, I explained the following:

  1. Disneyland has no scheduled reopening date for the foreseeable future.
  2. We purchased 3 2-day 1-park-per-day tickets earlier this year. They are wholly unused.
  3. The tickets expire in January 2021.
  4. Will Disneyland extend the expiration dates of those tickets?
  5. If Disneyland will not be extending the expiration dates of those tickets, can I get a refund?
  6. If I can't get a refund, then my only option is to exchange the wholly unused expired tickets for new tickets.
  7. Can I do that over the phone or online?
  8. If not, then I have to do it in person at the ticket booth. We live a 6 hour drive away. With park passes expected to go quickly, us driving to Anaheim to exchange our tickets in person, only to find out that we actually won't be able to get into DL or DCA, isn't a viable option for us and basically renders our park tickets useless.
I'll let you guys know how DL responds!

My Nov 21-24 reservation at the VGC is still alive, was expecting to see it missing from my Dashboard today. I'm booking a backup trip on the coast today instead since I haven't seen any other rumblings about a potential hotel opening. Almost want a Disneyland Hotels Reopening Speculation Thread, so far there's only been a few queries on the DVC boards, but it seems relevant enough here.

I was with him until the over the top Disney may close forever part. Thats simply not happening even if some treasured things are lost forever.
I look at this as improbable, worst-case-scenario stuff. While I do agree that it will be devastating to many CMs who may never be able to return to their former positions, and permanent changes/losses are highly likely, I tend to think that this article is a touch too apocalyptic. I sure hope so, anyway.

I got an email reply this afternoon to this. Here's what the email said:

"Thank you for contacting the Disneyland Resort in California!

This is a truly unprecedented time for all of us, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work through the many details related to the temporary closure of the theme parks.

Unfortunately, we're unable to assist with your request or questions using our email service. We recommend that you place a call to our Guest Information & Ticket Sales team. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

So that a cast member can help you personally with your request and answer any additional questions that you may have in real-time, we recommend that you place a call to our Ticket Sale team. Our Ticket Sales team can be reached at 1 (714) 781-4636 any day of the week, from 7 am until 9 pm/PST. To try and avoid long wait times, I would suggest calling as soon as we open over the weekends. We usually do not have higher wait times over the weekend than we do during the weekdays. I hope that helps. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

For the most up-to-date information regarding our policies on special event tickets, please visit the following link: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/travel-information/.

If you have already been assisted previously or have been able to speak with our Ticket Sales Department over the phone, there will be no need to contact them again unless you have additional questions or concerns.

Thank you again for your message, and have a magical day! "

Well, I did that. I called them at the number listed above and spoke to a Ticket Sales team CM. That person said the same thing that another CM stated last month when I called inquiring about the same thing, which was "We don't have any instructions yet on how to handle these tickets. You can go to the Ticket Booth when the park reopens and exchange the unused tickets for new ones."

So I replied to the CM's email that I got earlier today and said this:

"Good evening,

I appreciate your reply. I did as instructed in your email. However, the Ticketing cast member stated that there's nothing she can do right now, that she's been given no instructions or permissions on what to do with tickets like ours (which expire on 1/12/2021). I called Disneyland Ticketing about a month ago with the same question and received the same feedback, which was to go **in person** to the ticket booth in Anaheim once the Disneyland parks reopen.

As I mentioned in my original email below, this is not a viable option for us. So now at this point, Disneyland has received payment from me for a service which it cannot provide, nor is a reopening date in the foreseeable future for several months.

I would like to request a refund of my tickets. Confirmation number is _____.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,
my name
my address"
