Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I'm not very computer savvy, but **************.net had an article yesterday about putting plexi glass up at the entry gates of Disneyland Park. It's a good read. Question for all of you all.... Who out there in Disboards land are excited about funny things like plexiglass being installed?! I don't know about you guys, but I am! One step closer!!!!!
The plexiglass installation was noticed right away by DISers and photographed (by our own @WonkaKid ) when DTD reopened on July 9th. You can find the posts and info in the DTD reopening superthread or by trying the search function. I think the Disney Food Blog might have had a post about it, too. There also are plexiglass shields at the cash registers, CS ordering counters, and restaurant check in podiums in DTD. It's a pretty common sight now ... funny how quickly we got used to it!

Thanks for letting me know. I'm from Washington state so I'm finding all of this stuff out with articles and things like that. I'm of the mind that I don't care if there is plexiglass everywhere right now. I wouldn't mind at all seeing it on Pirates and things like that as long as I can be there, me and my family will make the best of it.

Funny! I'm going to Duke's in Malibu this evening for dinner. I'll have a cocktail for all the homeschooling parents :)

Have the mai tai! I didn’t feel quite right ordering a mai tai at 9am, so i ordered the lavender colada. 🤣🤣🤣 Have so much fun!

Ok ok, I know. Off topic!!! Sorry!!! Can’t wait until we are drinking cocktails at Trader Sam’s.

I think the photos are recent of more plexiglass installation going on at the turnstyles of DL. Also, CMs up in the train tracks looked to be cleaning something.

Thank you! That's what I thought. I know they had already put it up on DCA's turnstyles so, I thought this might be fairly new. I appreciate your reply. Thanks again.

Greetings from OC (waiting for take out at South Coast)...evacuated from the fires up north and decided to escape the smoke down here.

What did I miiiiiiss? (Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton voice)
Good to see you back here! Are you going to check out the Food Festival at Knott's while you're in the area? More tickets went on sale yesterday. (Knotts Food Festival)

Unfortunately nothing.

Rumors heated up this week about reopening and they ranged from Sept 2020 to April 2021. The governor says there will be all new guidelines for reopening sometime this week so we’re watching for where “theme parks” land on that... small antidotes of the week include: OC should be off the county watchlist this weekend which starts the 14 day clock on all schools resuming & DLR has cancelled onsite hotel stays through 9/12, continuing their one week at a time on Thursday cancellation pattern.

Knott’s wasn’t on the radar, but I’m intrigued! Likely no as we had other plans and will be scooting down to SD on Tuesday.

Will be at DTD Monday and will have to explain to the kiddo why we can’t go in. I prepped her last week and she sweetly/tentatively asked, “Maybe...maybe if we ask the manager, they’ll open the gate?”

So if y’all see a father kneeling down to a daughter at the closed DL gate sometime Monday afternoon explaining that everything is still there, tucked away nice and safe, that’s probably me!

More exciting news. I saw on another site, photos of Buena Vista Street today and the paper is off the display windows at Los Feliz 5 and Dime. You can see the merchandise displays in the windows. Hoping we get some sort of announcement this week!

So, thoughts on how APs will work at Disneyland?
Do you think they will allocate the same amount of tickets as they do for Disneyworld? Or will they take into account how many people have APs here and will allocate accordingly?

Also do you think preference will be given to the more expensive passes? Signature passes shouldnt have the same availability as a SoCal pass. (And that’s coming from a non signature pass holder.)

Also, if you can’t really take advantage of photopass or fastpasses, they really need to figure out what they are doing with MaxPass.

My opinion:
They need to refund Maxpass
They need to allocate more reservations to Passholders. (I’m thinking 1 week from a date they should open unused reservations to signature holders, then so on until 2 days before for SoCal passes)
If you have a hotel reservation or stand alone ticket you should book a week in advance anyways. That way they still get their priority, but the parks don’t operate below capacity because of a fixed AP allocation.

I am by no means a DL expert in any way, but I just can't see how it would be busy without park traffic. I honestly can't imagine it busy without resort traffic, either.
Having watched many DL vloggers going to DTD it looks like it it is pretty steady with the amount of people there so yes I do think it would be good to open up all of DTD even with out the parks being open.

Weekends parking always fills up so there is for sure a steady stream of people visiting
