Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I think at Oga’s we’d definitely see a big change in how seating/standing is handled. Since they’re opening with limited capacity, it does make things like that easier to juggle.

I bet we’ll see big changes to the Droid Depot they won’t want people touching everything so much they way it was before. I would imagine Savi’s would be easier, it was designed to be a small experience anyways and that’s a big money maker for them.

For the rides, I will lose my mind if they’re not open haha! That would be the clincher that would make me reschedule- we haven’t ridden ROTR yet and I’m a diehard fan. Been twice to the land at least but missed the opening of ROTR by just a few weeks. I’m hoping rides will be a priority- they’re already getting enough negative press for no fireworks/shows. I could just see those negative headlines now ‘Disneyland opens with no Star Wars land!’ I’d imagine it’d be as simple as hand sanitizer for guests before they ride and spacing in the ROTR attraction?
I hope so. The closure of any major SWGE attraction would cause us to cancel as well. It’s what drew us to DL to begin with.

Yes, ROTR is the whole reason we planned this trip!
I've been wondering if DL and WDW will actually release what rides/shows will be open and which will be closed. I know a lot of people who planned trips for last year and this year because of ROTR. If it isn't open and DL and WDW didn't disclose that ahead of time, you will see a lot of angry people.

I'm was just reading some comments on a Disneyland FB group and my speculation is that it's going to be interesting when it opens. Someone asked about park reservations and comments from people were "We booked with XYZ travel partner so we are all set." and "We are booked for August and they included our park reservation." I feel bad for some people who won't do their homework and will get all the way there and not be able to get in.

Edited to add: actually I feel for the CM who has to tell them

This also relates to my earlier question about reserving then cancelling or changing. I wonder if they will announce what will be open before taking reservations?

Yeah I feel like we don't even know how the reservation system is going work right now. Nobody has any guaranteed entry at this point.

Certainly I hope so. I suspect strongly that Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters -- an attraction that's among my favorites, as many here know -- will be closed simply because riders have to hold a blaster that's been in the hands of other guests, which, of course, is an opportunity for the virus to spread. On the one side, it's easy to socially-distance riders but on the other, do they want CMs to disinfect blasters continually from the time the attraction opens to the time it closes? Then again, they could disinfect continually and issue gloves to all guests. I suppose we'll see. I'd like for it to be open, of course, but I'll also manage my expectations. One of the things that I'll miss dearly will be the traditional rope drop. I can't imagine we'll see the return of that until sometime next year. That is, once a vaccine has been approved and is in wide use.

Wow, fun screen shots!

Do I see correctly? Looks like resort guests could have some benefit. I understand this is in test only. :thumbsup2

I’m on a lot of DLR FB groups too and am shocked at how many people have no idea what’s going on or are spreading misinformation. I can understand why Disney has to put so much specific verbiage into everything they put out! I feel lucky to have found this wonderful group and the wealth of information that is shared when I was trip planning in 2013. This is my go to site!
