Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

What are you guys with impacted resort reservations doing? I have a one-night stay at VGC for 7/23 and a one night stay at PPH for 7/24. As those are the first days of hotel openings, they will be cancelled, but I'm not sure whether I should call and cancel or wait to see the new dates to attempt to modify (my VGC won't be able to be changed as its all booked up).
I am waiting to see what happens and if they announce a new re-opening date...we are scheduled to arrive 8/1

Well at least one theme park in California is reopening...

June 25, 8:30 a.m. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom amusement park in Vallejo is reopening next week without rides, according to a statement released Thursday. The visitor experience will focus on the park's animals, including lions, penguins and dolphins.

The park closed entirely amid the COVID-19 pandemic and will reopen on July 2 as an animals-only experience with various talks from animal care specialists and animal demonstrations at outdoor venues. None of the rides will be operating and the amount of visitors will be kept well below capacity.

C'mon Disneyland... reopen Main Street and the Hub, and we'll stare at the ducks. 😂

Aren’t there cats there too? It’s practically a menagerie.

Ive been saying this all a long, that even if Disneyland opened and there were no rides, no characters, no entertainment , I would be over the moon just to sit on a bench on Main Street, looking at the Castle, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the park while reading a book.

Soo many just can't get their heads around that the new Disney experience will be different and want it their way, and say that not having XYZ will ruin the Disney experience for them !

To me a reduced Disney experience is better than no Disney experience!

Interestingly enough, you can still book at some of the hotels for 7/23 and on still as of today. So maybe they are not going to move the hotel opening dates, or they just want more people to continue to try and book and then inform them of changing their reservation dates later

I went to the park once and read a book while sitting on the bench in the hub (and attempted to study for an exam), was mostly a failure and ended up chatting with CMs. If I still lived close by, I would do that again.

We canceled our July 23 and July 30 VGC in hopes of august opening. Have a week end of August already on the books for pre-senior year kickoff --

We're still wondering on our Aulani Aug 1 ---

WDW opened some of its hotels first prior to the parks opening... think Disneyland may do the same since the park opening is delayed? I believe their hotels were already approved to reopen...?

Did you see that earlier today Hawaii announced that starting August 1st you can skip the 14-day quarantine if you present a negative test?

We were discussing this at work and how terrible the rapid test is (big false negative rate). So if you wanted mathematics to be on your side in whether you can go to Hawaii (or Alaska) or not, that's the test you would want to look for. Ethical? Questionable, but...

...the problem is, with regular testing, the results take like 5 days...so that automatically quarantines you for 2 days on arrival (like Alaska), or denies you entry from the airports. There's a twofold benefit to getting the rapid test, at least for the person traveling.

I had a regular test done at noon on a Monday and had the results by 4 pm on Tuesday. Same for my husband. I think it depends on the state. It just sucks that the timing is so inconsistent from place to place.

Nice, we're set up in the hospital for quick turn around on the regular tests... problem is our county/other public options are taking quite a long time. It's definitely lab/site specific, and we don't serve the public.
