Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

At WDW they weren't doing any preshows for rides when we went. Haunted Mansion too- no elevator part at all and it's just a walk through to the doom buggies. So that's probably a given if they haven't even brought them back to Disney World yet.

Anything interactive or high touch things in queues were covered up too.

Interesting! How would you get to the doom buggies without using the elevator? I know there's an emergency exit off to the side of the hallway, but I'm trying to picture how you would go from ground level down to the "basement" unless that's the entrance used.

I kinda liked the abbreviated FoP preshow better. MMRR - yeah, that could have used a preshow. I wish I'd watched it on YouTube before I went because that made NO sense! EPCOT was the biggest downer though. TT relies so heavily on the pre-show stuff and no post-show for both TT and Spaceship Earth was downright depressing.

What about Smuggler's Run? Was that always a sort-of walk-thru pre-show or are you supposed to stop in the room where he's telling you about your mission? Seemed like something was really missing there.

For SR you used to stop in the room and listen to Hando tell you the mission so yes that was a pre-show that's now a walk by.

Epcot seemed to be impacted the most- so many things missing and covered up. I imagine we'll see a lot of that in Toontown when DLR opens..: lots of things to touch and climb on there.

I'm not even sure- someone else probably knows! We just walked straight through at WDW through the typical elevator room to the ride. Magic? lol!

It was a big bummer having that piece missing for HM. I'd say that's a crucial part of the ride more so than other preshows. But I get it.

We were at Disney world in November and they weren’t doing the pre show at tower of terror or haunted mansion. The room doors were just open and just part of the line.

As I walked through the Gallery in MK back in September that's the first thing that came to mind...

How are they going to handle this is Disneyland?

I'll go with magic! lol

At Disney World the ceiling stretches up, the floor doesn't move at all. So it might be an issue at Disneyland because that floor does drop there.

Disney California Adventure will launch a food and beverage experience that is expected to kick off in mid-March during the spring season when the Anaheim theme park typically runs an annual food and wine festival.

“Currently planned to begin mid-March, we will debut an all-new, limited-time ticketed experience, focused on our world-famous food and beverage offerings from around the resort, the latest merchandise and unique, carefully crafted entertainment experiences,” Disneyland president Ken Potrock said in a letter to cast members.

The limited time food and beverage event will bring more than 700 Disney cast members back to work in addition to the 230 employees that have already returned to work along Buena Vista Street, according to theme park officials.

“Teams are working as we speak to start recalling identified cast in the coming weeks,” Potrock said in the letter.

Disney California Adventure and Disneyland closed in March 2020 and are unlikely to return to full operation until spring or summer under COVID-19 health and safety reopening guidelines issued by the state. DCA’s Buena Vista Street returned for shopping and dining in November.

The new ticketed event is targeted to launch in mid-March, take place multiple days per week and include some entertainment but no parades or attractions.

Many of the details of the new DCA food and beverage event have yet to be announced.
There isn’t a name for the event, a description of what it will involve, how much of DCA will be involved, when it will start or how long it will run.
The event will be ticketed but a price has not been announced and it remains to be seen if the free Buena Vista Street experience will continue or not.

One thing is clear: The new Avengers Campus will not be part of the new event. Additional details on what may be offered to legacy annual passholders will be announced at a later date.

About Time!! Get more CMs back to work..finally a step in some direction.

P.S.--I really have a hankering for a HOT turkey leg & their very tender Corn on the cob..so buttery!! mmm...

Just to be clear, they had wanted to do this last fall, but the unions would not agree then to allow CMs to come back unless it was full time. Disney wanted to do like Knotts and have it mainly on weekends. Guess they found a middle ground!

Hooray!

I like unions (I'm in one) but yeesh, one would think the unions would have been happy for their members to get some part-time work!

Happy about this as well, but hopefully this isn’t them ceding that opening is still more or less a pipe dream.
I worry about that too. But at least they can have something until opening happens. As of now they still must wait for Yellow tier.
