Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

That’s also what’s been happening at DSprings and Universal Orlando. As long as a person is carrying food or a drink, they can’t be asked to wear their mask.
Honestly, if that's the only time one is without a mask in Disney, when you're in movement with food; that's pretty low risk. Standing in a queue no 6' away? no. Standing for parade? no.

But guests are carrying around drink cups or bottles so they don’t have to wear masks. People can still cough or sneeze creating aerosols that other pseudo-drinkers can inhale as they are walking around pretending to be drinking/eating.

True that- perhaps we should tape the straws to the mouths for the duration of holding the beverage ;)

There will be some folk pushing the envelope of what we all should be doing collectively to get us all to a better place. Unfortunately it's a high 'me' society factor at this moment (cloaked in the concept of individual rights)-- even in the happiest place on earth utopia is a difficult concept to embrace.

Do you think there is any chance, when DTD opens next week, that they will bring out their snack carts? Popcorn? Mickey Pretzel?
I really miss Disney popcorn most of all.

I hope they do it, as well as Order only from Carnation Cafe, Jolly Holiday and Plaza Inn. Making To Go orders would generate funds.

Honestly, as much as I too love Disneyland popcorn, I think they should minimize things that will cause people to be walking around mask-less. People wondering around munching popcorn & pretzels would mean people wondering around with no masks.
I agree but I soooo miss DL popcorn. People will use anything for a reason not to wear a mask unfortunately.

I miss y’all and talking about Disneyland 😭😭😭😭😭

San Diego is going to be on Newsome’s hit list Monday..... anxious about what will close. I’ve only done outdoor dining once.... yesterday at our country club and I swear my throat hurts. (Psychosomatic. Hopefully) It’s seriously so anxiety producing for me.... we will be sticking to takeout 💯 even if the dining is 💯 outside. I’m not worried about surfaces, it’s everyone sitting around talking and laughing without masks. Even socially distanced it scares me!

I have decided that when Disneyland is open and safe, we are BUYING ALL THE THINGS. Those crazy expensive balloons on Main Street my kids don’t even ask for anymore bc they know I’ll say no, all the merchandise they want, dole whips, Mickey pretzels, EVERYTHING, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and whatever princess costume they want, bubble wands, candy, EVERYTHING. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Word out of WDW is you will be told to step to the side or go sit down to eat or drink. And excuses will not be tolerated. So you should still be able to enjoy your favorites, but no wandering around with them. (This is how UOR is doing it.)

If they follow WDW, BBB won’t be open so you’ll be saved from yourself there.

I believe symptoms take at minimum 2 days so your sore throat isn’t covid ;) Sorry you guys in SD will be joining those of us on The List.

My daughter goes to school in the LA area. She went to Disneyland couple days before she came home for Christmas (talk about a study break! I'm jealous) and brought me home a Disney Christmas balloon as a gift because she knows I love Disney and Christmas. They're expensive, but they are fun.

Oh by the time my husband thinks it’s safe to go to Disneyland, BBB will be open. 🤣 We have a September trip planned but I’m probably dreaming to think it’ll be our version of “safe to go” by then.

I wish they would have drive through carts for the snacks in one of the parking lots. I heard they are doing this at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. There are 10 of the food places set up in the parking lot and it's drive through. Nobody gets out of their car.

Imagine never having to get out of the car and just driving through to get popcorn, churros, ice cream, corn dogs, etc. I think they are really missing an opportunity here.

Honestly, I don’t think it’ll even be open before September. When we first started talking about when will Disneyland be open I said not before 2021. I’m beginning to think that may still be the case. Our cases are expected to surge throughout the summer. Then if a “second wave” hits, I just don’t don’t know how Disneyland can safely open.

I would fly there and rent a car just for this. I'm not kidding - I had a dream about dole whips last night. I'm getting desperate!

I started taking my granddaughter to Disneyland several years ago. we made the trip from northern California as often as we could and I did buy all the things for her every time. I always felt like the window of time for true magic was small because she was growing up so quickly. I am glad now, for so many reasons, that we had as many magical trips as we did, and I am so glad I never said "no" to her on any of our trips. Our memories of the special grandma/granddaughter time are priceless. We do have a trip planned for this November, over Thanksgiving, but it's looking less likely to happen every time the governor has to pause or backtrack on reopening.

Does anyone know if any CMs were still called back beginning the 28th? I haven’t seen any updates on if that is on hold along with the reopening.
