Joe....nice location and shot. Looks like you might have set up right outside of Star Traders? This was shot on the day we left a couple of weeks ago. I tried a couple of locations but not this one. I like it. Did you find it difficult to set up a tripod with all the folks walking around that area? The geo-tagging is also really cool. If you get a chance, PM me and tell me which gps you're using on the D300.

Thanks all for your kind words on the fireworks shot Danny - yeah, I was sitting at one of the patio tables outside the pizza restaurant there (Redd Rockett's Pizza Port?). Mostly it was just people passing by, not in the frame long enough to really ruin the shot. Only a couple shots did people stop RIGHT in front of the camera for a few moments. All in all it was pretty sucessful and not crowded back there at all. My geo-tagging method is not technical at all. I just tag them by memory on google maps VIA a bookmarklet within Flickr. So they're not always exact, but usually pretty darn close.

This is probably one of my favorite threads to look at. You all are so talented, and creative. Makes me want to learn to take better pictures!!

Maybe one of these days I will post some pictures, but they aren't works of art like some of yours.

That is such a nice picture. You can really see all the details on the float, when the parade is going on, it just seems to whizz by so quickly and I am so busy taking pictures that I don't see all the details like you can when you look at it like this. Wow. It is beautiful.
