Disneyland Park TRIVIA

Did anyone ever post the correct answer to whta BofA use to sponsor?? I do remember it being the bank on Main St, at one point as well, but I thought they asked for an attraction....

Yep, fairycat had the correct answer, it was It's A Small World.

Here's a new one:

Where in Adventureland did you used to be able to order a Monte Cristo sandwich for the amazing price of $1.50?

When was HM built or when did it finally open?

In 1961 it was announced for a 1963 opening. In 1963 the exterior was finished. It was previewed on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color in 1965, but didn't open until 1969.

At the Tahitian Terrace.

...those were the days. Whenever I look at old Disneyland menus I get sick to my stomach looking at how incredibly low the prices are.

The elephants were supposed to be the ones from Dumbo's drunken dream and were painted pink. Don't remember where I read that, but I think that's right.

You surely are!

Another q:

What would your name be in the 2001 version of Great Moments w/ Mr. Lincoln.

Bank of America sponsored It's A Small World during the time when they also operated the bank on Main Street.

Any guesses on the name of the Rocket Jets elevators or the area in front of the train station?

Well, I am sure someone has already asked this, since I did not scroll through all 13 pages, but I will ask it anyway.

1.)What is the top of Splash Mountain called?

To answer a question that was asked many posts ago... When the imagineers proposed to Walt that not only should the interior of The Haunted Mansion be haunted, they also wanted to make the exterior decayed and decreped. Walt said no and told them that "we'll leave the inside to the ghosts but we'll take care of the outside."

Q-What type of fuel do the DL RR trains run on?

To what attraction was Walt referring when he said to a group of people

"Ladies and Gentlemen, there's an old saying in show business. If you're not ready, don't open the curtain."

I am just going to answer this.... it was when Disney was about to do the premiere of Abe Lincoln at the World's fair on 4/20/64. The press was there along with Ill. Governor. However, they could not get it to work right that day. As he made this announcement, beneath the stage the Imagineers were crying.

Steam?

I want to say biodiesel, but I could just be making that up. :rotfl:

Correctomundo! They run on a biodiesel which costs Disney more but they do it to be green.

Sometimes you can smell it, kinda smells like french fries.

Q-What got stuck in the asphalt on opening day?

Q-What Soviet premiere requested a DL visit but was denied by the secret service because of logistics and because his safety could not be guaranteed.

Ladies' high heels, they were given moccasins to wear

Was it Khruschev (sp?)? It's been a while since I took Post-Revolution Russian history.

Questions!

What freebie was given out for the 40th anniversary, but had to be collected from different places (at least from what I remember) and was given out on more than one day? (Hint: it wasn't a decoder card)

What memorabilia from an old ride is still on the Rivers of America? (Hint: the ride loaded near the canoes and the Hungry Bear Restaurant)
What movie is that memorabilia referencing (bonus if you can identify the exact character and his role in the movie)? (Hint: the movie is live action)

I am gonna take a stab at the 40th question, although I may be remembering the 35th anniv. :confused3

I remeber, most specfically in Fantasyland, getting stamps from characters like the Gummi Bears, and Dark Wing DUck, etc. I can vaguely remember that I was sooo young. I just remember I had fun going around and collecting stamps and stuff and different little stands.
