Disneyland Paris newcomer!

Hi all!

My fiance and I are going to France for our honeymoon and being a big fan of Disney World the thought of Disneyland Paris keeps sneaking up in my head, haha! I know very little about the park and what it has to offer. If we decide to go what should I expect? How different is it from the one in Florida?

i havent been to any other park but dlrp so i cant really compare. as you can guess we all really love it. i would say have a look at the trip reports section at the top of the page to get a look of what the park is like

The Disneyland Park is, in my opinion, much nicer.

Everything is newer there, we have the newest versions of all the rides such as Phantom Mannor, POTC and Space Mountain.

The park had the biggest budget of any Disneyland Park too (I think)

The main difference is that inside the parks food etc is more expensive and that the resort as a whole is smaller.

I prefer DLRP over WDW to be honest!

DLRP is a wonderful resort! And very romantic!

Have a read of a few trip reports (can be found in peoples signatures or at the top of the main board there is a link to the TR board.) as it will give you a good overview of the parks. Most have lots of photos!

The useful information thread at the top of the lsit is also handy if for most of the obvious questions you may have.

DLRPmagic.com is a great site too!

Thanks so much for all the useful information. I am getting so excited over this!! I was kinda hoping to go to WDW for our honeymoon but I have an even stronger intent to go to France since my dad's family is from there. This really takes care of both!

Make sure to visit Paris! Such a beautiful city!

I can't recommend the Hotel Edouard VII enough - great location and a lovely boutique hotel!

Also if you can afford it - stay at the disneyland hotel at DLRP!

It's basically on main street! And beautiful!!

We are definitely going to visit Paris. If you have any other suggestions of places you'd recommend please feel free to add them. I have never been off the continent so this is a really big deal to me in a really great way!

We went in Sept and have been to WDW and DL. It is similiar to DL in California. POTC, Phatom Manor, and BTMR were better at DL Paris. The food options are nearly as good as they are in the states (no corndogs, bakery items are limited, and there aren't as many souvenirs to choose from). The castle is the most beautiful IMO of all the disney castles I have seen. It is a totally different experience from WDW and one that I would not pass up the opportunity to go. WS across the way is a neat little park that has Crush's Coaster, which is awesome. Have Fun!

We have been to both and enjoy one as much as the other. In many ways I prefer WDW and in many other ways I prefer DLP. I don't really think it's fair to compare the two. I would say though that I find DLP a lot more magical
