I have just gone on the DLP site to check prices and have just noticed that the price for the hotel I want has gone up from £713 to £812 since yesterday!!!!:scared1:

Why is this? I have put in exactly the same details.

I think it is like the airlines, they have so many rooms/seats at one price & when they are gone the price goes up. Or it could have been a glitch in the system.

Have you tried it again since?

Yes and is still showing the higher price! I should have booked earlier!!!

Have a look at Expedia and you might find it cheaper booking through them.

I had to add an extra day and the price for a room for one night, 23 Dec in the Cheyenne was £274, including tickets but £134 without tickets via Expedia.

You can also add in tickets with Expedia if you want.

We noticed this also when we were looking to book for DCR this December.

After we'd first looked, and got a price, the in-laws said they would come with us so we had another look, both with them sharing, and the original quote which was for 2 adults and 2 kids.

I was surprised to find that over the space of 1 day the original price we'd got was no longer available. We got booked up pretty quick before it went up any further!!

I just assumed it was to do with the forces of supply & demand!

I don't know how you are travelling, but I know that the prices for Eurostar can increase quite quickly. If you book early you get the best price for Eurostar but as the seats book up you start getting charged more.

When we added an extra 2 adults and 1 child to our booking they had to pay £90 more then us for the same seats due to the change in Eurostar prices.

I was only looking at Hotel prices (sequioa lodge), I didn't include any transport.

Oh well, It can't be helped I suppose, it's just annoying!

I dont see how the hotel prices can change as in the official brochure it has a price guide which lists all days in 3 or 4 categories of high/ medium/ low price and there is a set price for days within that group.

Are you sure you definitely put in the exact same days as I know I have looked sometimes and put a day either side and it does sometimes change (as weekend can be high and other days medium for example)

I would ring to get a quote.

I was looking last night on the DLP site and it was not working properly as kept timing me out even before Id chance to put in basic details and twice it told me the site wasnt available.

If you were looking at travel as well I could understand it as prices do often go up nearer the time however saying that Im sure the brochure lists prices with travel as well

I was wondering that. Given that they've a published price list, valid for the next 6 months (or whatever the brochure period is), I can't see how they can legimately vary the pricing to any great degree (although I've not read the small print at the back of the brochure - I'd guess in hindsight that it does probably include a statement like 'pricing correct at time of printing').

However, the website does go thru periods of 'special' pricing offers (ie better than the brochure) - although these are normally sans transports (isn't all pricing on the website sans transport?). Is it possible that you caught the end of one of these offers when you initally request the pricing?.

Just my thoughts - not saying you are wrong!.

Regards

Iain

You can now choose to include transportation, though it can be quite temperamental.

sans is a french word meaning "without"

Therefore sans transport is without transport.

You see "sans" a lot on drinks e.g. sans sucre means without sugar (good for kids drinks) !

Sorry - it's was the non-French speaking Englishman throwing in one of the few french words he knows.....
