We're planning a trip in June and wondered what opinions you all have on where to stay and any special requests we should make? Also, I noticed they have a daily resort fee of about $10 for parking, newspaper, etc but do we have to pay that or do our points include this? They should as high as they are!! Any info would be greatly appreciated! :earboy2:

the grand californian and paradise piers are our favorites............disneyland is quite small compared to WDW and all the resorts are very close to the parks............but for shear beauty the grand californian is cool............if youre on a tight budget and like disney old school......stay in the disneyland hotel...........its cheap but still looks the same way it did on the 60's.........

HI. As I have only stayed at the Grand Californian in August 04, I can not compare hotels for you. However, I can tell you we absolutely loved the GC and even though it took many points per night, we truly were glad we stayed there on points. It is a beautiful hotel and the pool area was really nice. We did not have to pay extra for the parking, although we did have to walk a bit to our car. I believe they did offer vallet parking, but I can not remember how much that was. Sorry. Yes, we did receive a newspaper for free each day. We also had the park view which was really neat to see at night, with the lights on the rides.

Good Luck with your planning. I am sure you will have a great time which ever hotel you choose. As Bongo59 said DL is different than WDW in that everything is so close to one another, which is nice. Having been to WDW many times and DL only once as a child, I did like the fact that it was a quick walk to the parks. The GC has its own entrance to CA and Downtown Disney which is a nice extra touch. Have fun planning. :D

I have only stayed at the Grand Californian also. But not on points, it was before I was a member. I loved it, it feels very sophisticated. I did not stay at the other 2 so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was very impressed with it. True Disney style! :flower:

We usually go once a year... I am old school and I love the DL hotel. Haven't stayed at PP but thought the GC was similar to the Wilderness Lodge, and nothing too spectacular for the price.

We love the Sierra Tower at the Disneyland Hotel - upper level room, facing Downtown Disney and the park.

IMO, however, the points required are horrendously high. We rent out our points and use the cash to pay for the hotel.
