Disneyland needs to take lessons from WDW

Kind of bugs me too. Generally I'm a rule follower and I'm teaching my kids to follow the rules. They ask that you not run, so we don't run. Unfortunately there are others who do and they do get ahead of us even if we are in front of them at rope drop.

The only ride in CA that does the CM walk right now is Guardians, if they are still doing that.

Exactly! It drove DS crazy watching adults break the rules. It’s hard to reinforce manners when he’s watching adults acting like that. I just remind him that we all make our choices and cutting in front of kids is just a sad thing for grown ups to do. It is not as easy in FL but it works when we go into the Tiki Room side and he watches everyone run like mad to Indy and we walk on POTC or HM. Then he just points out how ridiculous they are running to wait in line.

As DLR annual passholders and a family that visits WDW up to twice a year, in my experience the amount of runners at DLR is no different than what we’ve seen at WDW. As others have said, there are always runners at AK at RD for FOP. Guests ran last year and there are guests that still sprint to FOP as recent as this past August. There are guests that still run to FEA in Epcot, both from RD at Spaceship Earth as well as from the International Gateway. In my experience both resorts appear to handle runners in a similar manner. And while it does irk me, it’s something that over the years has become part and parcel with Disney Parks. It just seems worse now because crowds are larger than ever. In my opinion however things feel a bit calmer since MaxPass was introduced in DLR. Back in the olden days (and by olden days I mean 2016), there was a bit more urgency (at least on my part) at RD. I love MaxPass because it created a way for guests to take a more relaxed approach, and that’s always a good thing when dealing with the crowds.

I hate this. I am old and can't even walk fast anymore. I am not so slow that I would block someone walking at a normal pace but when I get up and sit at the gate for an hour before opening it does irritate me that hordes of people then nearly trample me to pass me and I am not able to get there in the front anyway. I am sure they don't do anything to guests because they don't want to "ruin their experience" but how about the ruined experience for those nearly getting trampled! Plus I would think if someone DOES fall then they would get sued but either way I think it is childish. I know a lot of kids do it but adults should not be and they set a bad example FOR said kids. It's sad!

Peter Pan is the one I always see people running too. It's so bad we don't consider it worth it to even try. Generally we'll walk along the side to Alice first.

We've only rope dropped RSR once, usually do FP. The one time we did was this January and we were walked back by a CM. Same thing with Guardians, we Rope dropped it once and were walked back. We like to just get FP and avoid the crazy.

Can't wait to see how they deal with it for GE.
