This morning we went to a DVC Member Get Together at Disneyland. We had only ever attended one other DVC event before. A Christmas get together in Disney World.

We had so much fun today.

I just want to say thank you to DVC for putting on these fun events.

Is OP referring to the Royal Member Gathering at the Disneyland Hotel, held every Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion?

4/15 morning, was a Monday morning.

I think so, and .... with only one small DVC resort in Disneyland, I would like to know how big is the crowd usually.

Back in Dec there was about 30-40 people, or there abouts. It was a full house, we got there late and they pulled a few chairs for us from another room.

Some info...
They had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, pastries and fruit. They showed a short DVC sales video, then just asked people what their favorite resort, rides, etc was. Then they had trivia and they gave away 5 gift baskets which had things like Mickey hands, popcorn, candy, etc, and they gave away about 10 red Mickey head luggage tags. Then before you left Mickey showed up to take pictures with everyone. Everyone got the blue DVC hats and each family/group got a Welcome Home ornament.

Pretty fun and quick.

That's a lot of people! I wonder if all of them are members staying on site, or just members living around the area.

I assume only resort guests are invited. Can't imagine many locals going out of their way to hear a brief DVC sales pitch at 8am on a Monday.

There may not be a lot of DVC villas but at max occupancy, there could be over 450 people staying in VGF on any given night. Then add in a few more owners using points for hotel rooms at any of the 3 resorts.

With this member meet only being held once per week, a crowd of 30+ doesn't seem surprising. We will probably attend this summer and could end up bringing all 8 from our group.

Oops. Just read that you'd already posted details.

I think anyone can attend. They have these postcard flyers at the DVC sales desk at the Grand Californian, so anyone walking by the desk and sees the stack of colorful flyers may pick it up, see the details and try to attend. I asked the DVC rep there if I could bring my 2 non-member friends and she said of course. We were staying hotel side, but she said that doesn't matter.

When I got there, they had us all fill out a member contact sheet and I didn't remember my member ID number or have my card and my friends didn't have any member ID#s. I suppose it's at that point, if you are not a member, you would realize that it's members only and may leave. It's also hard to just wander into the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion. It's upstairs, past a few other closed rooms, etc. No one stops you from going up there, but it's not a heavy traffic place, only Goofy's Kitchen below is. But who knows, I'm sure at times there is a hotel guest who just showed up just to see what it is about. It is Disney after all, strict but welcoming.

Being Monday morning at 8am though would discourage those who aren't actually at DLR and who aren't waking up early to go to the parks from going though. :coffee:

Actually, I'm a local and when I saw this on the DVC website it looked fun and I plan on attending. I had posted a thread earlier this month asking about it, and no one really responded. I wouldn't go if it were solely a sales pitch, but since the website said that a special guest would show I thought that it might be fun to stop by and get some pics before heading into the parks for the day w/my DD.
