Background: I am a frequent WDW visitor who actually grew up going to DL but I haven't been there since the early 90's. I am planning a two week trip to CA this summer with 4 nights at the Disneyland Hotel.

I am to the point in my planning where I need a really good park map. I am trying to figure out things like exactly where CS restaurants are located. On the WDW maps everything is numbered and you can get the exact location of everything. On all the DL maps I am finding online, I can tell the land in which the attraction/restaurant, etc is located but not the exact location. Is this how all the DL maps are?

Can I order paper maps from DL like we can from WDW? I haven’t been able to find that on the Disney site yet.

ETA: I fully admit to being an OCD trip planner and I realize that level of planning is not needed at DL. It's just how I roll. ;-)

I can relate! I am a planner too! We just got back from DL and I wanted a good map too, so I got on Ebay and ordered park maps. I got a map to DL and CA for $4, that's including shipping and everything. I got it in three days of ordering it. It was worth the $4 to plan at home. They are the maps you get when you go in the parks and have the numbers on it. I would suggest doing that.

Thanks! I'm surprised the EBay is the only way to get DL park maps ahead of time. I think WDW sent me personalized maps free of charge but it's been years ago now. It's worth it to me to order them on E-Bay though! Thanks for the tip. Must have numbers...

Oh, please don't buy maps off ebay. There are plenty of people on the boards who can send you maps for free. If you're willing to wait a few weeks I can pick up some for you or there might be someone who can send them sooner. I thought i also heard that you could get them through disney but I don't have details on that.

It's not silly at all! It makes things very real.

I did a swap last month with someone who had WDW maps, and it was incredibly exciting to get them in my hands! Someone else, last year or so, sent me maps from Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea...thrilling!

There are many of us who will snag a few maps each time we go through the turnstiles and then send them out to those who want them. It's really fun to do, because we know first hand how exciting it is to get them.

That is an awesome idea! I'm so glad this got posted. We'll be in DL next month so I'll make sure to grab some extras!

I'm glad I posted it then! And since you're up in Canada, that is extra helpful to the Canadians Dis members who want maps. Gets them there faster. Though since it was an awesome Canadian who got me the WDW maps, I wouldn't trade that experience.

i wish you could get the park maps directly from disney, i was, and still currently looking for the park map from the front gate to tokyo disneyland, i did find the hong kong, and paris disney on ebay though, but have yet to see a tokyo one on there, i tried contacting disney several different ways and they keep sending me links to online park maps. i wish they could understand actually having the map in your hand makes a huge difference.

ChickenCarlos, have you considered lurking on the Tokyo planning forum, and maybe asking someone to pick one up for you?
