We are planning on driving from SK Canada to Disneyland.
We were planning on the end of July beginning of August... looking at touringplans crowd levels are at 9!!
We are early risers so would be hitting the parks in time for opening and taking advantages of fast passes. I've been to WDW at Christmas would the summer crowds be comparable? (Traveling with a 5 and 9 year old)
So hope to be celebrating my 40th birthday in DL!!
Thanks!

DLR in the summer is not like DLR or WDW over Christmas holidays. So not that bad.

Also, there are a number of experienced folks around here that do not know what to make of the TP crowd calendar. In summer of 2010 I was at DLR on some of the mildest summer crowds ever yet TP called them "9s and 10s". So if they were that then a 9 or 10 is not that bad at DLR.

Bottom line is do not put too much stock in the TP predictions. I don't and most others around here don't either.

If you are early risers that will work for you. This might help: "Getting The Most Out of a Summer Visit To DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1345319

We did early August 2010, a Friday and Saturday, and it was fine. BUT you must get there at park opening and grab fastpasses for your afternoon/evening. I found it less crowded than Spring Break, and everything is running. If you're staying nearby you can go back to your hotel for a siesta or swim, and come back later and use those fastpasses. It's still lots of fun!

Thank you SO much HydroGuy! I was starting to panic thinking that my best (and only) birthday party might not be a go! Can't wait to turn 40 in DLR!!
