Disneyland is getting filled with rude guests

 Jiminy. People do all kind of idiotic things! I wonder if anyone reported that father. Could it possibly have been some kind of "fake" margarita?

fake magarita??? you mean a virgin magarita??? a magarita with no alchohol right??? :\

it looked like a magarita though... i stared at it for like 10 sec as he pushed by... :\

We just went to DL for the first time. We noticed a lot of rude behavior. I think it was because we went to DL during peak season and we've always gone to WDW in the off season.
There was a LOT of the "excuse me, I need to get to my group" cutting through the line. Enough that we commented on it. Since when is Disney okay with that?

We also noticed that many parents paid NO attention to their children. Either that or they just didn't care. I couldn't believe how many kids moved up through the line and stood with us. They weren't trying to cut - just wandering. And all the children that were climbing on everything! And I can't believe how many kids are just fascinated by the chains that create lines. Swinging, climbing, banging them. The poor CMs were constantly having to say something to people to keep the kids safe. I watched one boy (about 14) randomly unclip the chains separating the standby line from the fastpass line on BTMRR. He cackled everytime like it was some hilarious joke. His mother watched and said nothing.

My all time favorite "special" person (that is what we call the wonderful folks that don't have to follow rules) was the guy that walked up to a churro cart while there was a line of about 15 people. He just wanted sodas so he didn't need to wait in line, right? When the CM politely told him he would have to wait in the line he said, "SERIOUSLY?! FOR A SODA?!" in the nastiest tone. Then he tells the woman at the front of the line "You don't care if I go first, right." AND SHE LETS HIM!!!

As annoying as it was for other guests, I have to say I really got a new appreciation for the CMs - I can't imagine dealing with that crap all the time.
There were plenty of nice people, but it's amazing the behavior some people think is acceptable.

 My last trip to DL I didn't have anybody cut in line to catch up with their group (maybe it was because we almost always were in the fastpass line??) but hearing all these stories is making me cautious about my next trip I really wish Disney would try to control this issue.

I can't believe that guy just cut in front of the entire line, there were probably alot of people just wanting one churro, how is that different than wanting one soda. Geesh, some people.

Now he will feel vindicated over his poor behaviour and carry on with it, had the woman politely said yes she did care and it's not acceptable he might have come away with a different understanding.

These sort of people are the way that they are because it works for them

I had a couple of incidents which bugged me last weekend.

First, we got on the line for the Mattehorn at an opening in the chain by a garbage can (Tomorrowland side). We weren't even 10 feet from the end of the line when a woman jumped in front of us over the chain. Then she called her kids over from the Nemo line and told them to stay there and ride... Meanwhile she kept bouncing back and forth from this line to her husband in Nemo.

It wouldn't have bothered me so if I were further from the que, but to be pretty much there and to see her essentially cut us and the few parties behind us soured me.

Then on Pirates we had a boat with three people taking almost non-stop flash photos. On our second ride of the day, the castmember at the controls told us not to take flash pictures (as opposed to the recordings and disembodied voices). I said I'd wished she'd said that to our last "crew." She chuckled and said it was one of those days... *sigh*

This isnt really a "Rude" Guest, more of a so damn laaaaaame guest....

picture this... a 5 year old drinking Magarita... with the father pushing the stroller and the kid is for sure DRUNK...

I just stood there and just couldnt believe my eyes... :'(

Wow. DCA has alcohol, yes? I assume you are in the know of what cups the "real" drinks are served in...

Maybe the dad didn't realize it was "real"? hope hope hope...

They are pretty strict about carding over at the margarita place. They also sell non-alcoholic versions of the margaritas there too, so maybe that's what it was. A small child drinking that much hard alcohol would probably be more dazed and sleepy than drunk. (and FWIW, I would report something like that immediately to security, because that child is at a major risk for alcohol poisoning, which can be fatal).

I did infact walk over to the magarita stand and asked if the Non-alcoholic version came in the Lime cups... he goes no, it come in this cup and shows me a clear no-colored cup.

what i mean by drunk is that his eyes were like squiming and he was like look up amazed at another straw he was playing with while sipping the magarita...

unfortunately, i didnt have a phone at the time... though i went to tell information booth but by then, i didnt know where that guy went... so bummer... :|

I know - I wish he would've arrived 5 seconds earlier because if he asked us, I could've politely told that we had waited in the line for "just sodas". I honestly think he knew he was behaving badly and just didn't care as long as he could bully his way ahead of everyone.

What I do when people ask if they can get in front of me, I always tell them (not in a mean tone, but) just loud enough for a few in the line to hear, that they need to ask ALL the people behind me if that's okay with them too...
Usually the person will get embarrased somewhat and kinda ashamed and walk to the end of the line...
works every time...

i bet like 5 ppl in line are there just for a soda..i cant belive some ppl and some times those type ppl might get me at bad times if im hot or bithy well it will show and they might not ever try it agine..im a brat some times.. but i try not to be

That's a great way to handle it.....

I handle the line pushers (those people who push their way through a line to "catch up with their friends") by turning to face them as they come up to us, you can usually hear them coming. Often this is enough, if not I simply tell them they aren't allowed to push through the line and their friends will have to wait for them or they will have to see a CM.

Honestly the heat and the crowds and sometimes poor planning and a lack of decent sleep turn people into fire breathing dragons!

I had this guest interrupted me while i was helping a guest... so i ignored her and she got mad and walked away...

I was talking with my dad on our last trip as we were looking at the window displays at the Emporium (Cause those are so cool) and there was a guy on a motorized scooter bombin down the Main Street sidewalk. I wasnt paying too much attention and I took half a step and BAM a guy in the scooter hit me sideways. It hurt and naturally I started rubbing my back and the side of my legs and the guy in the scooter had the nerve to sit there and yell at me that I was in his way and that I should be more careful next time. My dad told him to be quiet, chill out, and watch where hes going and for him to go on his way.

I totally agree that the scooter guy was way out of line yelling at you telling you to be more careful but I have to defend the scooter people....I cant tell you how many people stop dead in traffic or flip around really quick or try to jump in front of the scooters...I use one and I gotta tell you that although sometimes it can be my fault because Im trying to get out of peoples way and I end up running into them because I hurry too fast, the majority of times its people who dont pay attention and stop dead in their shoes and I run into them or knick them and omg the amount of people who just look straight ahead and walk right into me and they look at me like its my fault...if I run into someone I totally say Im sorry but you should see how the other side has to deal with it to

I'm glad that we aren't the only ones who have noticed the increased rudeness in DL guests, the line jumping, etc. We just got back from our July trip, and were appalled by the lack of manners of so many. We got stepped on, run over by strollers, shoved, and had people pass us in lines to "catch up" with their party. Some said "sorry"; but more often than not, we just got blank stares as if they did nothing wrong.

We spent 3 days in the parks. Each day we were there, we ended up leaving by around 2 or 3pm because of the crowds, rudeness, heat, etc. We took ourselves out of that situation, and heck, we needed that break anyways. We would return at around 6 or 7pm refreshed and ready to enjoy our evening there. By doing that, I felt that we had a blast, took home some great memories, didn't let it get to us, and avoided the crankiness around us.

Good thing that came out of all that bad behavior? We used those living examples of rudeness, shoving, etc, to teach our children what not to do when they grow up.

I haven't read all the posts in this thread so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this or not but we just got back from Disneyland Paris and you would not believe how rude the people are there!!

My daughter and I go to Disneyland several times a month and have run into rude people occasionally but in Paris I actually left the park early one day because I was going to hurt someone if one more person bumped into me or cut in line in front of me! :headache:

Sometimes I felt like I was invisible while standing in line there!

Ahh the french..... oh dear what can one say? We had a lot of fun with them when were there and yes they are thought by many to be the rudest people. I think they are just misunderstood, my french pronounciation was so bad, and they kept correcting it as they got madder and madder till finally in flawless english they would speak to me. I used to laugh and they would laugh too:rotfl: its like a mask coming off. I think the french are just very intense and passionate and I don't think they like anyone who doesn't at least try to speak their language. Still no excuse for rudeness though.
