Looking for advice and opinions on visiting the parks in mid June. We are Disneyland veterans and usually go in the offseason however my son started Kindergarten this year and I really don't want to take him out of school for the vacation. So our options are Spring break in April after Easter or mid June when he's out of school. What are the temperatures like in Anaheim in either April or June and regarding crowds which is more manageable: spring break or early summer?

Thanks!

Personally, I think June is the best option. Once the AP's are blocked out for the summer, the crowds die down a bit. June is also really lovely weather. It's overcast in the morning and then temperate in the afternoon. That's not to say a heat spike is impossible - but it's a lot less likely than in July-September.

We are going the last week of June, along with the rest of the world! I think it will be crazy busy this year because of the 60th. I know a lot of people also planning this week. If I could go earlier I would, but sometimes schedules just aren't flexible.

A lot depends on the weather you are used to. For instance, I live in WA State and June is pretty good weather here. However, weather here is April isn'so great. Therefore, we have been to DLR in April the past three years and it was fabulous weather. I know you aren't looking at August but some of our neighbors went in August and it was too hot for them being from the Pacific Northwest. Check isitpacked.com to look for crowds during the specific dates in April and June.

This should help with the weather question:

I'll be attending next July during the 60th Anniversary weekend, Wednesday-Sunday, 15-19 July. How are crowds projected to be affected because of the celebrations? The Villas at Grand Calofornian booked almost solid eleven months out; I've secured mine already.

Far be it from me to mess up a kid's education. But we took both my son and daughter out of kindergarten at their respective ages. We asked the teacher for a list of things to do/accomplish/test. Both times we missed 7 day of school and it worked out alright. Now that we homeschool, it's not an issue at all. But even when they attended a Charter, at the Kinder grade, it's not a problem. Well, it's a problem for the school because they're paid by the government by attendance. But let them worry about that :thumbsup2

As a teacher who has went in summer, spring break, and before teaching during the offseason I would take my child out of school and go during the offseason! Summer is way better than spring break as well!!! Up until grade 7 I would not hesitate taking my child out of school for a week or so, after grade 7 they can start missing more so it would depend on the student!!!

We are coming from WA state but I grew up in California. I can take the heat of the summer but I'm not sure that my son could. He's use to the Pacific Northwest weather. I would like to be there for the 60th festivities but not sure I want him to deal with the heat and the crowds. I might have a tantrum on my hands. Maybe springtime isn't a bad idea either.

Thank you for all your comments! Definitely gave me more to think about!
