We are planning on visiting Disneyland from June 11 to 18. We plan to avoid the parks on the weekends (or at least Saturday). How will the crowds be if we get there at opening? We plan on having a couple of days down time to relax at the hotel or see other sites. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

That week is usually when DL's Grad nights are, so on Wed & Thurs the parks will close earlier than normal. I went that week this year for 2 days. On Tuesday it was crowded but managable and with the use of FP, we were able to ride everything we wanted. On Thursday it was much more crowded and the lines were generally much longer.

A couple other things to keep in mind...The 50th Anniversary begins on 05/05/05, so there may be more crowds due to that. Also the beginning of June is also when elementry schools take their end of the year field trips, some choose to go to Disneyland. This will deffiently increase the crowds during the days. And as Jen mentioned there are also Grad Nights, so the park will close early to prepare.

My birthday is June 13 and every time we go to DL to celebrate, I always end up wishing we had picked another day to celebrate. As DisneyChrista said, the park is FULL of kids from elementary schools as well as junior high and even some high schools. It's insane. Also something to think about is that schools in most other states end in May, as opposed to California's schools ending in June. So there are a lot of people from out of state that come during that time since their kids are already out of school. If possible, I would wait until August, it's still a bit busy because of summer, but not nearly as bad as June, IMO.

**I say August because July is the official 50th anniversary of DL, so July may be VERY packed, too. Sorry to sound like such a downer, I just want to give a realistic idea.

How about the weekdays, June 7th, 8th and 9th? Still a grad-night, school field trip nightmare?
