We are receiving 2 standard rooms on our trip. They have small refrigerators in the rooms I understand.
(1) Anybody have any input or advice about things to do or not miss at Disneyland Hotel?
(2)Anything that will make our time more enjoyable with small children, one with autism?
(3) Is there a microwave on premises we are permitted to use?

Adding Jenn's questions from Post #13 at top, hoping some of you will answer her as well:

(4)Just how far in advance can you book? I'm interested in going Oct '09 and I haven't stayed onsite since I was a little girl (DLH once and PP twice before it was PP and on-site). I'm planning to get APs this winter. Does that make a difference?

Thank you and blessings to you!

I think your children will love the Neverland Pool and Cove Pools and Beach (very quiet). There are remote controlled jungle cruise boats that you can watch and play with. The Horseshoe Falls near the Bonita Tower are beautiful and the Koi Ponds are filled with lots of fish. Goofy Kitchen has excellent buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of good food and Disney characters walking around. Also there is a Game Arcade as well. Also for your rooms, request the Dreams Tower, for either a pool view that overlooks theh Neveralnd Pool or for a resort/Downtown Disney View, which overlooks Downtown Disney and California Adventure and you can see a bit of Disneyland too. Make either request now. If you booked thru Disney or Walt Disney Travel company, call them and have them note your request in your reservation.

These are the things I remember as a child. We never even stayed there we just went to look around. :rolleyes1
These are must do's, the Koi ponds are really pretty at night.

Thanks for the link! I would have never thought about going to youtube for hotel walk-throughs. My youngest dd and I just watched it...oh WOW! We are going to have so much fun, I can barely stand it!! :cool1:

That youtube link was a good one! I think your kids will really enjoy the hotel. That link didn't have much on the Neverland Pool which is incredible. And as another poster stated, the Cove Pool is also nice and frequently not crowded which can be very nice. I hope you have a wonderful trip! And for what its worth, the Disneyland Hotel is my favorite Disney hotel at Disneyland or Disneyworld. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!

Check out this link for some nice photos:

We usually stay at the Disneyland Hotel. Except in September for a Mommy and Daddy only trip we are trying the Grand. The theming in the DLH is wonderful. I recommend leaving your curtains open during the day so that at night the Tinker bell border with the pixie dust glows in the dark at night. I really enjoy going to sleep looking at the pixie dust. We have had both the Downtown Disney view and the Neverland pool view. I like them both. There are things to recommend both. The pool side is quieter. We could hear the outdoor bands in Downtown Disney when we were on that side. I didn't mind it so bad but some people don't. Most of all have fun. Also there is a fast food place called Croc Bits and Bites onsite if you want food to take up to your room and there are place within walking distance in Downtown Disney that you can get take out to bring back to the room. Like the Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen has a take out side too. Enjoy.

I hope I have been helpful.

It seems this is by the same person and it's of GCA:

Yes! He also has some great videos of the the park and shows. Click on his user name to look through all of his videos. He says that he use to be a news camera man (now retired) and that is why his camera work is so good. No shakey lenses here! I was happy to find his videos.

Take care,
Lisa:)

Take your time. Plan for breaks to go back to hotel. I have 3 small children, one with HFA. For him, I made him a pecs book of the parks. I had pictures of rides, food, the room, characters, potty.

My son hates character meals but loved Blue Bayou. We got to still waterside. We go all the time. My son is 4. PM if you have any questions.

So sorry, I'm jumping in... Since I have DLH questions, though it belonged here.

Oh, and which tower has DL/DTD view?

I don't know how far in advance. I do know that with the AP you can get discounts certain times of year. I stayed at PP when it was the Pan Pacific myself. It was when you had to walk across a street and you had to walk across the old parking lot or catch the tram in the parking lot.

Oh, and which tower has DL/DTD view?

I know the old names The Marina and The Sierra. The Sierra I believe is called Magic now and it has the DTD view and the Pool view. Actually they all have a pool view on one side. The Marina has a park view I believe and a pool view. The other tower which I am sure someone else can name for you has a waterfall in front of it and a pool view. I have no clue about the back of the building. That is the only tower we have never stayed in.
