Disneyland Hotel Questions

It's been a number of years since we last stayed at the DLH. The majority of our recent trips have been to WDW, and the few that we have made to DLR we have stayed off property. I am hoping that you might be able to assist us with some questions that we have.

1) When we use to stay at the DLH and charged back to our room our card (bank/credit) was charged nightly. We have grown acustomed to WDW's practice of charging at the end of your stay where we receive 1 lump bill, which does not throw our account into panic mode of "stolen/compromised card". Does DLH still charge your card daily or have they gone to the end of your stay? I'm concerned about our card company freezing our cards thinking that they have been stolen since Anaheim is no where near our home. And no, our card comapnies won't put a note that we are on vacation, I tried that.

2) We are trying to decide whic credit card to put on file for our room charges, my next question; is there a daily maximum in room charges or is it weekly? And if so what is it.

3) As DVC members we have grown accustomed to free laundry facilities at the resort. Unfortunately the GCV were full for our dates so we are staying at the DLH (not a bad alternative by any means). Does the DLH have laundry facilities in each tower or is it just one per resort? With 4 little ones it's hard to keep things clean  If there are laundry facilities do DVC members get reimbursed?

I think that's about all for now. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Alas, with the construction, the laundry room (just one) at DLH is closed. So you get to take your laundry over to Paradise Pier Hotel to do it.

Which is a twist on how it was when we first stayed at PPH; back then, they had no laundry room, so hubby got to go to DLH's laundry room at midnight (sweet guy).

What bank do you use? That's odd that they can't make a vacation note AND that they don't "track" your use down to your vacation place. Our accounts (we use Chase or Boeing CU) seem to "watch" us. First there's a shuttle charge or parking, then usually a coffee at Dilettante at seatac, maybe a snack (gotta take advantage of the "street" pricing at seatac, after all!), then a shuttle at our destination, etc etc. The only time we've gotten an alert while on vacation was when we were getting gas near LAX. DH pulled our rental car up, did the card thing, then realized the car was "backwards" for gassing up. Took him ages, for some reason, to turn the car around, and the authorization on the CC had expired. Turns out, when you do two authorizations in a row at a gas station, the Fraud department wakes right up!

From our minimal experience with charging to the room, they do it in a lump sum. But we do not like charging to the room, we tend to lose track of things and have spent over our budget in that way. So maybe it was just b/c our room charges were so small, we never hit any sort of daily limit.

On our stay earlier this month at GCH we charged our main meals and Minnies breakfast to the room and just got one bill at the end of the stay.

You can charge everything to your room at the DLH (that is Disney-owned/run, so not the DTD stores/restaurants other than World of Disney and the carts, but everything in the park is fine), we did this in our fall trip and just paid one lump sum at the end (they did not charge us nightly, just on the day we checked out). We've gotten really spoiled by this feature as well. Love just carrying my room card and AP. Not sure what the maximum is since we've never gone much over $300 or stayed longer than a week.

We usually put it on our Chase Disney Visa just for the symmetry and extra points. I often e-mail the service center ahead of time to warn them of the travel dates/city locations so they don't think its fraudulent charges. The Chase Disney Visa might be a good card for you since you're DVC you can use the rewards to pay dues.

Laundry I don't know since we just took our dirty clothes over to our villa after staying at DLH.
