Disneyland Hotel Question

We are wanting to take a midday break by having lunch at Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Resort even though we are not staying there. We are also thinking that after lunch we could just find ourselves a lounge chair near the pool for a rest before heading back into the park. Does anyone know if you are allowed to do this or do they have that area fenced off and you can only access it with a keycard.

You do need a room key to access the pool area at the DLH. Tangaroa Terrace overlooks the pool area but does not have a ton of seating so I don't think they would let you stay there too long once you were done eating. There are some couches/seating areas along the outside of Fantasy tower facing toward the pool (but not in the pool area and there is lots of foot traffic through there so may not be super relaxing) that might be a comfortable place to just sit for a bit.

Thanks for your insights, are there quiet areas inside the hotel foyer like there are at California Lodge or is it more open and not really conducive for a sit and relax.

The photo shared above is Fantasy tower near the check in desk. Guest Registration is to the left of the photo and there are some seating areas to the right of the photo but it is a bit of busy area since it's right by check in. The other two towers do have quieter lobby areas with some seating but nothing like the Grand Californian's big lobby. There is a neat model of BTMRR in the Frontier tower lobby if you want an excuse to go in there.
