Disneyland Hotel Happiest Hotel on Earth Tour

Yikes looks like i ruffled some feathers with my comment. Westcoastminnie, never meant to imply that you snuck in. After rereading my post i can see how you might have read it that way, and for that i apologize. However, what i did mean to imply was that there are a lot of dishonest people in the world that do take advantage of disney all the time. I have read countless threads about how someone is staying onsite and they have snuck in family or friends to the pool area. To me this isnt right. If you want the perks, stay onsite and pay for it. As far as it not being the reason people stay onsite i disagree. I stay onsite for the whole experience. This includes the emh, the ambiance, the service, the pools, and the added perks. I try to utilize all the options at the resort and enjoy the experience As a whole. Perhaps a tour has never been full, i really dont know what capacity is. But i have tried to sign up for washcloth creations and been told that sorry its full. Ive also been there and watched people being turned away in the morning for the early morning walk through DCA because it was already at capacity.

No worries planningjollyholiday, it was just kind of funny, the thought of us being all sneaky :rolleyes1
I can see how it would be really maddening though if someone was deliberately taking advantage of something that was meant exclusively for onsite guests.

As far as this particular tour goes, I think really young kids would be bored, hence they recommend it for over 14 years. So they probably don't have to worry too much about everybody wanting to do it, although I agree the free part makes it sound enticing! And it does take a couple of hours of park time away for the family, so I would think it has to be something you are really interested in doing.

We need planningjollyholiday to be the person working at the DCA EMH entrance when all those people staying off-site are asking people in line to try to sneak in!!!

Seriously?! People do that? I had no idea, that's ridiculous. I can't imagine why anyone would agree to do that!

...By the way I remember my Mom always recommending the GCH Art of the Craft tour years ago to friends going to DLR but not staying onsite. They used to let anyone do it...
I have attempted to take the Art of the Craft tour, and been told it was cancelled due to lack of advance reservations. A recent post on another Disney board echoed a similar experience.

I want to take the kids and DH on a tour. We were thinking of the DLH tour, but I just saw the comment that kids under 14 wouldn't like it. Perhaps we'll do it while the kids are having down time - we'll just take turns taking the tour if we can.

I wanted the Happy Haunts Tour, but I'm wondering if that'd be too scary for the kids (8 & 10) as they have wild imaginations.

Maybe the Welcome to DL tour? Anyone done that one?

The hotel tours are completely different - they're about 30 mins long and JUST about the hotel. Not even close to being one of the park tours. I mean, you literally walk around the hotel ( and they are free).

Totally separate tours :) Walk in Walts Steps, Happy Haunts, and Welcome to DL are PARK tours. Hope that helps.

I totally get that, thanks! I want to do A tour; just want to budget time and money wisely. ;)

Welcome to Disneyland is a basic introduction to the parks, intended for first time visitors. A good way to spend your first morning in the parks. The lanyard included with the tour is a good place to display other tour pins.

Our first morning is a Monday, my oldest's 11th birthday, and EE into DCA. Somehow I can't see her jumping up for a tour first thing :p. I can ask her though...
