Disneyland Hotel Check In Questions

We are only 13 days away from our first trip to DL. I am excited...but worried...we really don't have any plans. We will be there three days (Sat, Sun, Mon) plus the Trick or Treat party Friday night...so I am hoping we have time to do everything and figure it out as we go. I am starting to get worried about not having a plan though!

Anyway, my question is about checking into the hotel (we are staying in the Disneyland Hotel). We are going to be in San Diego prior to Disney. We are driving up Friday. I was thinking maybe we would go to Disney outlet store and maybe find a mini golf place or something. I believe I read the hotel is booked because of the walk thing that Sunday (hopefully the parks are bareable!). Is it important to get there to check in early...even if we can't check in...or is it ok if we don't check in until 4 or 5? Also, is there a frig in the room?

Thanks.

We love the DLH. We'll be staying there for our trip. :cool1:

The rooms do have a small fridge.

Regarding your check in time, we have always been lucky to walk in early morning and they have assigned us a room right away. Even if you have to wait for your room to be ready, you could walk around Disney Downtown or catch a bite, go swimming (great pool) or even go to the parks.

Plenty of magical things to do.:wizard:

BTW, what is that "walk thing" on sunday? :confused3

Not sure about the check in, but I would draw up at least a rough draft for your plans. For example: if you're visitng both parks and have a 2 or 3 day park hopper pass, I would visit DCA on Saturday, and DL on Sunday & Monday. After you're done at DCA on Sat. (after the parade) head over to DL to catch either Fantasmic or Fireworks.

Have a great time:cool1:

I think its called CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County). There is a walk in Disneyland that morning...so no magic morning hour. I believe the park may not open until 10 (can't remember now!). Hopefully its not overly crowded!

I figured you were talking about the choc walk.

I just got back and we stayed at the DLH. We arrived at about 11:30 and they gave us a room right away.

I would say check in as early as possible so that way you may get the first availalbe room.

We just stayed at the DLH last week. We had paid for a lower resort view. I made requests that our view be of the pool and that we have a day bed in the room. We were at Legoland and didn't check into the DLH until around 7:00 pm. We were given a great room that met all of our requests--we were on the 6th floor of the Dreams tower overlooking the Neverland pool. I was kind of worried of what we would get with a later check-in, but it was fine. The CM even tried to upgrade us (we did not ask this, but she volunteered). However, she was not able to. She gave my kids balloons and sent milk/cookies to the room. She was so nice. Have a great stay!
