Hi! I am a first time forum user, so please go easy on me if I do something wrong!!!
Ok, we are counting down to our biggest holiday ever! My hubby, my 11 year old daughter and I will be visiting Anaheim for a total of 16 nights from March 8th 2009. I am looking for all the information I can possibly gather before we go............crowd sizes, weather, etc etc. Although I have been to DL before, it was 10 years ago and there has been so much happen since then including the fastpass system we know nothing about! We have never been to DCA, so am looking for some tips for there too! We are staying at the DL hotel for the final 2 nights of our holiday and any advice re the hotel will come in handy! I would also like to know how to obtain Disney Dollars..........not too sure if we can get them here in Australia!!!So, I hope to hear from all you lucky people who are DL regulars real soon!

Cheers

16 Days of Disneyland... I don't think thats going to be enough! :) I think you can get Disney Dollars at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney! Don't forget to have fun!:thumbsup2

Thanks Sy for the information! Yes, 16 glorious Disney days.........we can't wait!!! We do have lots planned as we are actually flying into San Fran for 3 days, then flying to San Diego for 3 days and then 16 nights Anaheim. We are doing the Zoo and Seaworld in San Diego and also going to Knottsberry farm and Universal Studios. I hope you have lots of fun on your trip too and don't forget to take loads of pics!
Cheers

Hi

I too am a first time DL planner and I am planning a trip for next August. Be sure to check Hydroguy's stickys on the top of the page. They have info on weather, crowds and how to use the Fast Pass System.

Minnie Sue Oz, you have got me beat! We usually are at the park for 10-12 days which makes people look at me like I am CRAZY! :crazy2: Oh well.... I LOVE having as many days as possible! It gives you plenty of time to do all the rides and attractions without having to do it at break-neck speed. You get a chance to enjoy all the details, all the dining options and not feel like you have missed something when you do get home.

I really don't have any great tips to offer for your questions but I did want to take the opportunity to :welcome: you to the board! Have a great trip!

The answer to this question will lead to answers to many others: Will you have your own car while in Anaheim?

Hi Perlster! Yes actually, we will be hiring a car for some of the time we are in Anaheim! We are visiting Knottsberry and Universal, but we thought there may be a bus/shuttle to take us there! Hubby most definitely wants to hire a Mustang to cruise around in for a day!!!

Cheers :cool1:

Hi and welcome!

You have plenty of time to gather all the information you'll need before your trip. This forum is the greatest and not just for DL info.

One thing is be aware of the driving out here. I know many friends that come out here from the US and the driving conditions scare them. It doesn't bother me at all since I grew up here, but I've spent a couple of weeks in Sydney and Aukland and the driving drove me crazy. I'm so use to looking left when pulling out of a parking lot or a side street. When I was out there, I would creep out looking left. Wrong!! :scared1: It took a good week and thankfully no accidents to get accustomed to the driving. And then when I returned to the US, it took me a couple days to get reaquainted with our driving here.

Cheers! :goodvibes

WOW Minnie Sue Oz !!! That is crazy! You're gonna have sooo much time to do everything, so I definitely think you should take your time everyday. When I went with my fiancee last summer for 5 days, by the time the 4th day rolled around we had been on Pirates of the Caribbean so many times that I lost taste for it. You should definitely try and see all of the shows and parades. Especially the Pixar Play Parade if they still have it by then. Also you should be aware that there is going to be construction of DCA. They are TOTALLY revamping it and its happening all over the park.

I know you've never been before but here is a link that HydroGuy put up to help you know what will be closed while you are there. You should check out his tips on the sticky as well. It will help ALOT.

Hi, and welcome. I'd suggest you just hang out on this board. Mice Chat is good too and The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland will be out soon--mid August I think. I think the passporter is coming out with a new one soon too. I actually got an old Unofficial Guide from 1999 off eBay, the last time we were there I think. It was interesting to compare. I'm kind of glad in a way we waited this long (the kids got big, bought a house etc., reasons we haven't been back) because all of the good stuff they are doing with California Adventures. We are going in March too. Downtown Disney wasn't even there last time we went, it'll be fun experiencing all the new stuff. Lol my daughter will be 20 and my son 18 but they are both rather surprisingly excited, daughter keeping a grim death grip on whether or not she'll be able to go with school, work and all. :sad2: I hope she'll be able to go with us. She's the only one who would get up crack of dawn with me and run like a madman to Indy, Splash or Space Mtn. Son and husband were more happy sleeping late and riding POTC 15 times a day pirate:
