My answer is exactly like Chris. If the tax return allows. I really want that coast to coast medal as I wont be going back to marathon weekend next year.

Jeff - Scott and I will be there - let us know where and when!!!

I'm in! Let me know the details. Jamba Juice seemed to work out last year...but am up for whatever you decide!:thumbsup2

Does anyone want to have lunch or early dinner on Friday, or a lunch on Saturday?

Possibly at a restarant nearby on Harbor Blvd? Or in Downtown Disney or one of the hotels? Cocktails at the Uva bar? The Lost Bar near the Disneyland Hotel pool?

Somewhere outside the parks, so those not attending the parks that day won't need a park ticket.

I'll be there, but I'm probably coming in late Friday night so I might miss the Friday meet(s). I'm game for a meet, but I might have DD(9) in tow. {Just not if she keeps opting out of doing her school work like she has been lately!} Are kiddos welcome at the meets?

Yes, kids are always welcome to join in.

Jeff - I think we will be coming in Friday also, but hopefully not late, so Friday evening or Sat afternoon would work for us.

Anyone want to meet up at this nearby mall instead of Downtown Disney? Many restaurant choices.

It's about a 10 minute from the crosswalk on Harbor Blvd entering/exiting the Disneyland Esplanade Walkway (i.e. Captain Kids Restaurant next to Park Vue hotel). About 6/10th's of a mile, give or take.

Some have mentioned arriving Friday. Do we want a later time for dinner? 7 or 8 pm?

We just registered for this event yesterday and would love to attend the WISH meet. We plan to arrive early Friday or perhaps even Thursday night. We have not yet made hotel reservations....where is everyone else staying?

Butch and I will be there are up for a meet-- just let us know where and when. My only preference is to have it be walkable from Disney so we don't need to drive, but otherwise we don't care-- will likely have my parents watch DD during the meet.

We are probably staying at Candy Cane although we haven't booked the room yet.

I checked out the Desert Inn and it is very nice.....also cheap and close! Now I have to go check out Candy Cane Inn and the Anaheim Plaza....do either of those have rooftop viewing for the fireworks?
I am so excited about doing this!

I'll be at the Candy Cane Inn (without Jim). We've stayed there twice and really liked it. It's an easy walk from the parks and the staff really went out of their way to be accommodating. I'm planning on arriving as early as possible on Friday. Definitely interested in a WISH meet.

I just checked it out and it looked nice. Where does the race start?

Jeanne, the race starts between Downtown Disney and the Disneyland hotel - just a little to the North (I think it is, I am not very good with directions where I do not live). If you came out of Disneyland Hotel and were looking at Downtown Disney - you would walk to the left to get to the race start. Scott will probably tell me I am totally wrong - but that is how I remember it.

We are at DLH for the stay. Figure just go down elevator to expo and easy access after finishing. Beware of the Kilt!

Jeanne: Hope to see you at the races!

Just a couple tips on the hotels:

1. If you're interested in onsite hotels, GET Travel seems to have decent rates, which are (including resort fees and taxes): Paradise Pier ($213.25), Disneyland Hotel ($229.33) and Grand California ($305.23)

2. For an offsite hotel, I recommend Howard Johnson for very good value. It is walking distance and you can get the Entertainment rate for $59/night. If you have an Entertainment card (from any Entertainment book any region) you get this discount. Just use the code SD50. If the online reservation system doesn't let you book, just call the hotel directly.

I hope we're going to stay at Grand California, though I did make a back up reservation at HoJo for the family.
