Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

Okay having found this I’m going to say the 5:35 is them being overly optimistic in projecting how long the start takes. Because these aren’t tiny corrals.

Also had a brief moment of concern about getting in if you’re coming from the south (where my hotel for the 10 and half are) but looks like that’s planned for.

Though this makes it look like coming in for the race and parking might be the least optimal way

You know, with the way the corrals are organized, without the stupid WDW shuffle-to-the-start corral set-up, it might actually go reasonably fast. Kinda kills some of the head start the early corrals get on the balloon ladies though

Yeah it definitely looks like that. Maybe they couldn’t get it because we’re far into the off season?

That’s what it looks like to me as well.

It’s still an 8 corral start and while I’m having a hard time getting a read on the corral size (because if where the letters are supposed indicate where corrals start than G is really tiny and we have one of the biggest wheelchair corrals I can recall). Also none of the other races for WDW even list a closure. Could be wrong but I’m leaning more towards overly optimistic.

Also I guess the amount of room they’ve given for the wheelchair and hand cycles to start for the half answers the question of how many of my friends will be showing up and coming from Disney World. A number of them

Interesting- doesn't have food listed on the Start/ Finish map like they do on the WDW ones. Wonder if that's an error - guess I'll need to get my coffee fix somewhere else just in case!

Yeah they usually have food stations twice if I remember right. So currently leaning towards error. Since you would think any food sponsors out east would be in effect in the west

So I have 2 hotels reserved...one is the SunCoast--which is literally across the street from the parking lot with all the action. The other is the Candlewood Suites, which is a block away. So yeah for a short walk to the start! (Now all I have to do is get healthy and decide to take this trip)

Yes we do! Right around here at mile 2.

The SW half I ran didn’t go through the Angels stadium so wasn’t necessarily expecting it here. Would have been neat though.

I think because this race weekend as a whole was modeled after the September race and not the Jan one. Down to allowing legacies from the September race in. The assumption was they would follow that course. Which they pretty much did just no Angels.

It looks like all 3 races go through the Avengers campus! Fingers crossed for some heroic character stops!

Both will touch upon the areas. This is the clearest view I have for the 10k, you can see it goes by Guardians and then loops around and runs through the Spider-man section. If i have this right it then has a sharp turn near the quinjet.

I've always said DL 10K courses >>> ALL other 10K courses

Yes that is what I am hoping for!! Unlike at WDW we can have ALL the Marvel characters. I am soo hoping they take advantage of that and have some marvel characters out but not just uptop but down below for better pics.

Yeah looks like we turn to go down the path to run into Carsland.

Also I’m really glad they decided not to take us through Sanfransokyo. Because that path is narrow as heck and I’m in the pack chair and I have memories of the last 10k I did hear having issues with other runners back when I was ambulatory. And I’m happy not to be doing the tight squeeze. Will be nice to also just run down Route 66

Does anyone know if they do pace groups for the half? I know they have at WDW before but haven't been able to find any info. Was hoping to see it in the event guide, but can't seem to find anything yet

Well this answers the question of whether any of the DTD places will be doing things for the race weekend.
