Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

I'd guess that the direction racers start will be westward but I don't think anyone can predict how they'll handle corrals, security has gotten significantly tighter since they ran races out there. Obviously I'd prefer my walk to the start to be a block away (!!!).
Edit: never mind brain got directions mixed up

This just got closer to me, and the walk I did in 2016 wasn't bad to begin with. I'm curious what the courses are going to be now. My flight is Sunday morning and I'm going to Uber, so I need to chose a location where the Uber driver can pick me up.

Guessing they knew this would cause some concern for people who were expecting to be closer to the start. I’d imagine they have something in mind to make it easier for people to get to the start? Either shuttles or letting people walk through DD. Nothing is mentioned here though.

Thankful for this forum to check in and note some major reminders/news (medals, POT, start line). The start line is closer to us now as well (we're a bit farther down Katella, but it's much more walkable now). Have a HM in two weeks, but thankfully my HM time from last year will still be valid for this race! Now just need to figure out the costume for the half (have the 10k set already).

Well on the bright side no more having to take that start coming out of the start. Wasn’t looking forward to that in a wheelchair. Still got questions but not like I can do anything right now beyond question the disability lady

i figured they would do the same as years before which was the parking lot past the Disneyland hotel. i actually like this location.

Yeah, I'm staying on Harbor, right by the park entrance, so this new start line is great for me. But it sucks for everyone else who thought it would be similar to the old course.

What are they going to do with the courses?

If the streets are blocked off for the race then we won't be able to get Lyft/Uber to the start, right? Hope they have shuttles or let us walk through DTD. Especially since it will be dark and practically the middle of the night when we're walking to the start! 😴😂

They’ve historically allowed people to go through DTD in the past. And I really can’t see why they would stop.

At the very least though they’re going to need shuttles for some of their athletes. If not all of them. I’m supposed to have my car with me so if worst comes to worst I can drive and park in whatever lot their using

But I would like to avoid that

We also splurged on Disneyland Hotel, expecting to be able to walk right out to the start line. 🙁
I’m not sure I understand the point of today’s email. If you’re not going to show us the new course, why bother to show us the start/finish? Do they not think we’ve already made hotel reservations? Maybe they just want our reaction? If so, mine is negative.

If the Disneyland certification is anything like the WDW certification, the USATF won't actually check the course until late November or early December.
True, but if they know where the start/finish is going to be, then they probably already have the course planned. They could give us a map, even if the course isn’t officially measured yet. I’ve never seen them send out an email announcing that they have a spot for the start/finish of a race. That just seems bizarre of them to give us that little tidbit of information. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think they just enjoy messing with us.

For those of you who may not follow the Budget Board, there is a great post about a Target Circle offer via TripAdvisor where you can save 20% on Disneyland tickets. I was able to buy a 3-day park hopper for Half Marathon Weekend for $336 (compared to $420).

With rumored ticket hikes coming soon, I was very happy to lock in my ticket for this trip now at 20% off the current price.

That was a rather odd email, that's for sure. What's changed in the Anaheim area since 2017? Are there areas now under construction that weren't before the pandemic?
