Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

My wallet is crying because I've gone from wanting to do the Challenge + 5K to now also wanting to do the yoga 🙃. And registration is going to be shortly after a D23 shopping event at an employee store and Disney Studio tour 😂

Same! Oh the thought process!

I am physically incapable of doing yoga, but my DW and DD could very well be interested. But with 1 Dumpey(?) (Dopbo?) (complete insanity?) and a bunch of 5ks, this is getting very expensive very quickly.

I know nothing of your backstory, but truly, no one is incapable. Chair yoga, bed yoga, wheelchair yoga...they all exist. My experience from last year's Princess yoga showed me that they are quite lovely and respectful, and didn't push people to go beyond their limits, and from what I recall gave some tips for alternatives. (and this is me coming from yoga teacher training in 2019 then an adaptive yoga training in 2020)

Ok, fair. I've never heard of any of those. But the yoga they would be doing during the weekend would possibly crack something that's already pretty broken in my body. Like my doc doesn't want me even playing golf for fear that the swinging motion could do something funky.

gotta be like me when breaking the news to DH……

Yoga, 5K & challenge combined is less than a Dopey bib 😂

I just booked a room at HoJo and Wyndham Anaheim since there's no deposit and it's refundable. Got decent rates through my company's corporate code, though there's a ton of codes floating around out there that are pretty good. It's about a $300 difference between the two so something I'd have to think about.

Crossing my fingers the Hyatt House becomes available since the 12k/night redemption is so good! Strange that it's not available yet when other Hyatts nearby are. I'd love to stay a bit closer but if I'm doing Dopey to Dumbo I need to save where I can! I'd need to work remote on Friday and it would be easier if Disneyland isn't across from my room anyways.

I'm so happy the registration fees are way lower than the estimates floating around from charities. I was like, $389, that's it? :rotfl:

What's the likelihood of Dumbo Double Dare or just the half being sold out for us normals registering on 2/14? I'm seriously contemplating going but I'll have a marathon in April too. I think DH will kill me. 🤣 I did Tinkerbell 2016 and Rebel Challenge 2017 and those were great races.

Complete speculation, but with the level of interest and buzz surrounding the first DL races in over 6 years, and the prospect of a one-of-a-kind C2C medal, I'm going to guess that a very early sellout is highly likely.

I wasn't a fan of the silvery-purple-drip stuff, but the first Eras drop got me good. And now I have a massive lamp because I don't pay attention to product descriptions and sizes.
I almost ordered that water tower! The only thing that held me back was knowing I’d be in the parks in a week and I can use my AP discount. I was thinking $100 is a lot for a little desk lamp, but whatever I like it. And then I saw a picture of someone carrying the box for it and I was like…oh…that makes more sense 😂

A CM at World of Disney told me that the Eras merch line will be debuting new things all year for different "eras." I'm like, oh boy. I've already spent quite a lot of $$$. Although, I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the pricing on things. Seems they are getting lower.

Honestly, same! I'm a little nervous for the DL drop Monday -- gave myself a budget and hoping I can stick to it!

Is there a specific schedule for these drops? Do they show the merchandse in advance? I don't follow this stuff too closely.

We were at the parks last weekend, bought a bunch of merch and then lost a bag. 😔 Lost and Found recovered the bag but most items except for one were missing. People suck. My kids were upset because they had some t shirts in there. So, I went back the other day to pick up the recovered item and went into WoD to repurchase the shirts. We hadn't gone in there last weekend, just shopped in Disneyland. WELL, there was SO MUCH STUFF that I had not seen anywhere at Disneyland. I ended up buying like 4 pins, an extra t shirt, and a hoodie. I wanted even more but we were already coming out of pocket again for the things we lost. Thank goodness for the 20% merch discount.

Question - it's been awhile since I registered for a rD event - how does the race merch preorder work? Do I have to preorder during registration or if I get lucky and get the races that I want, can I go in later and preorder the merch after the chaos has settled down?

You should be able to go in later.

So one thing holding me back is that the logistics in Florida are so simple to me. Stay on property, take the bus everywhere, easy peasy.

But I haven't been to the Land in 20 years and have no idea where to stay or how to get around or any of that. It just seems overwhelming.
