Disneyland Girls Only Trip thread

Hi Ladies! I just found out that on Friday the 25th, I have a work meeting at 11am. I'm in Burbank, 35 miles from DL.
Assuming that my meeting doesn't go more than an hour and a half, I should make it to DL by 1:30 at the very latest.
This means, that, most unfortunately, I'll have to miss out of the BB lunch. I PMed Kate, but I wanted to let you all know as well.
The VIP tour starts at 2. Is that cutting it too close? Should I bow out now (even though I was really looking forward to this!) so that I don't cause any issues? I'd hate to cause any trouble the day of the tour!!
I was SO looking forward to spending the day with you guys, but hopefully I can still make the tour and/or spend the evening with you all!

If you are pretty you can make it by 2pm or even 2:30, I'd still do it. You can always call or text one of the ladies who are on the VIP tour and on the phone list to tell you where to meet us. You'd still have 3.5 hours of madness...I mean fun with us. I mean really, how far can this old group get in 30 minutes????

However, if you think the meeting could go later I wouldn't want you to pay for something you're not going to get good use out of.

Do you feel naughty enough to walk out on them after 90 minutes??? I can give you lessons. We can bring you a doggy bag from the Blue Bayou too. I'm sure there will be leftovers somewhere at the table(s).

I want to do the free seminare with Guy on Saturday. It's at 3:00 I think, maybe 4:00, I don't know but I know it's Saturday late afternoon.

Guy is at 4:00. I also want to do the Cafe Orleans Monte Cristo class at 2:45, so there will be some brisk walking involved!

The meeting honestly shouldn't go that long. And there are only about 5 of us (its a staff meeting) so I think I'd be missed!!! HA! I'm going to plan on being there and I'll call if I'm going to be late. I'd hate to say I can't go and then it turns out I can!
And I'll pay even if I don't go, I don't want you all to have to pay more.
I'm confident that I'll be meeting up with you all before the tour begins! And, a doggy bag sounds awesome!

I have to take Luke (DS 4) to the doctor this afternoon. He's got that scarlet fever rash - UGH!

I hope your DS gets better quickly . My son just turned in a report yesterday for Science on Scarlet Fever, so if you need any scientific facts about Streptococcus Group A (aka Scarlet Fever) let me know .

I would definately take wdwr (Shelly's) advice. If you're running a little late, just call one of us and join us. But I'd definately not cancel. The premium viewing that we may be doing will be past our tour time and that is worth the cost alone.

I've always been interested in the Segway tour, but I'll still be at work Friday morning so I can't join you. Also, I'm a little worried I'd injure myself or others trying to drive one of them .

Don't you want to just slap them when they say "scarlet fever", evoking terror in the parents and everyone else around them. Why don't they just say "strep rash", which is what it is, so people feel better and know it's so easily treatable! GRR!
DS got this the morning of his third b-day!
Get those antibiotics in him and he'll feel better in no time!

We're back from the doctor's office. He definitely HAS it! He's getting more reddish every moment - he's starting to look like a lobster. Poor little guy. Even the pharmacist was like, "Oh, he doesn't look like he feels very good at all!"

I don't know why they still say scarlet fever?

Most kids never get the rash anymore (except for mine, this is our third go-around with it and our little boys), but it would be better if they'd call it strep rash. Maybe they still call it scarlet fever because they still want it to sound scary......so parents will for sure get their kids treated for it so it doesn't turn into something more serious like rheumatic fever and possibly damage the heart? I don't know.

Anyway, he's gonna be fine. We have 10 days worth of amoxicillin (2 times per day) to get in him, and he still has the fever and chills, but by this time tomorrow he'll probably be feeling much better.

I don't have a specific list. Some people have mentioned various things on the thread here, but nothing set. And I know some people weren't doing any of them.

Best bet would be to look over the list of offerings and see what you'd like to do and then see who else is interested in the event.

I'm happy to play it by ear and go along with what other people want to do, but wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on any ressies being made. Is anyone interested in the $55 Wine Reception or maybe the wine tasting for $45? I'd do either of those if anyone else wants to. Or maybe we have a wine expert in the group that could give me a lesson for alot less?

Thought I would chime in on this one... sounds like maybe your kids have had it before but my 5 yr old had it this summer and the thing that freaked her out the most is a few weeks after the rash is gone the skin on their feet and hands peel off! So yucky! I am so sorry for him! I hope the meds help fast.

Has any one ever stayed at Extended Stays America over by the Convention Center? I hope its ok I got a deal on Priceline for one night there. I do like they have full kitchens, but hope its not too far or icky.

Map it out on Yahoo and see how far you are from the park. Do they have a shuttle to DL? That'd be great. Unfortunately I have to drive my car since I'll be leaving from DL/DCA on Friday, like you. I have a major event for our city that weekend so that's how I'm paying off my trip LOL
