Hi Jamie! Ah man, that's too bad you weren't able to run into them. I know they did run into a few DISers but the parks were pretty crowded though, so I guess it's not too surprising.Hi.
I was on the lookout for you all, I got back last night after a crazy 2 days at DL. I didn't see any of you ladies.
I'd love to be in on the next one.![]()
NEW TAG ALERT!
I am now officially "Drive-by Girl"![]()
Okay for those of you that are back already...pick the one thing that was your very favorite during the trip. It can be a ride, a treat, an experience, whatever you want!
Congrats!
I guess the Tag Fairy likes you!
It's a very appropriate tag!
Sincerely,
Tagless in Tustin
Girls--this is off-topic, but I need HELP! I have to make my ADRs for my November WDW trip in just a few short days and I am totally bamboozled by all the choices. Some of you (Shelley for sure, and I think Mary Jo) gave me a couple of suggestions and likes/dislikes, but I need to get down to brass tacks.
Here is my thought--I am going to initially plan table service meals for lunch and dinner in two different places/parks/resorts . . . . once Disney posts EMH schedules etc and I have better idea of which park we will be in on what day then I can choose the table service meal that works for either lunch or dinner (any other meals will either be in our DVC accommodation or counter service. Or maybe I'll just eat junk food). Anyway, I think one table service meal a day is enough for us--just don't know whether to choose lunch or dinner at this time, so I'll make one for both.
the ones I've heard good things about are Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon (yes, I "know"), Kona. I would like to try a "fine dining" experience maybe at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (is it still there?) or Narcoossee's. I've heard Boma breakfast is great, and I also got a vote for Jiko. Prime Time Cafe and Sci Fi were also recommended.
I was also told to avoid CRT unless you REALLY want to eat in the castle.
It's just so overwhelming . . . but I'm sure you all hear that a lot!
So . . . other suggestions and must do's? My Mom will be celebrating her 78th birthday while we are there so someplace special for that day/night would be great. Because she is with me I would like to avoid buffets because she will be unable to get up and get her own food and it is akward because we end up not eating together. But if there is something really great (like Boma) we might try it. I also wouldn't mind a character meal (that wasn't buffet preferred).
Thanks Everyone!
I know you go through this drill often . . . .

HI LADIES!!!!!
I had such a wonderful time and it was so much fun to meet all of you! I'm so excited to have some new Disney friends and hope all of you will PM me when you're in the area, since I'm local and always up for a Disney day! I am sad that I didn't get to know to EVERYONE as much as I would've liked. But now that I know who you are, hopefully we can get to know each other better on the boards.![]()
I got some GREAT news yesterday. DH (actually DXH, as I explained to some of you) has confirmed that he's going to a convention in Orlando in October, and we booked everything last night! By some miracle, I talked him into doing a land and sea package, so we'll be at Animal Kingdom Lodge from Oct 5-9, and then 3 nights on the Wonder from Oct 9-12. It will be my first ever Disney Cruise, AND first time on the dining plan. I am SOOOO excited! Also, DXH (I think I'm going to keep calling him that!) booked our airfare with frequent flier miles, and was able to get us upgraded to first class without using extra points!!! I hope it all works as well as it sounds so far! Since DXH will be at the convention all day on 10/6-7 and the morning of the 8th, and it will just be dd4 and me, I'm crossing my fingers that maybe some of you will be there at that time and we can meet up!
Cheryl-
My favorites are Le Cellier, Jiko, Boma, California Grill and Kona Cafe.
I'm also excited to try Yak and Yeti, and Tutto Italia.
I'm in the same boat now trying to decide what to book for our Oct trip. Maybe we can compare notes?![]()
DEFINITELY the VIP tour!It was just so exciting for me to talk with a group of people who have as much of an interest in DL as I do!

I'm local too--so we'll have to meet up--I would love to meet your DD--she looks so cute! I love going to DL with little kids and seeing how excited they get--especially when they see the characters--is she ok with characters or one of those kids who's still a little shy? (And also I missed the story about DXH so will need to hear about that@!)
Yes, we will definitely need to compare notes--I need to make ADR's on Thursday so I need to get my rear in gear and get my list made!
Well, that's good! We didn't want to have to keep calling you "drive-by girl".
That'd be funny if you got stuck with that as a tag!

Ugh, yep back to the real world, school, work, laundry, errands, etc.
I definitely want to get a new thread going. I was kind of waiting for everyone to check in here first and chat a little about this trip, then I thought we could start a new one and maybe we'll get some fun new ladies to join us!
The more the merrier!!![]()
Thanks! I sure as heck like this new one better then the grilled cheese!![]()
From the few I talked to about the TRs they said they were planning to do their own. I was thinking as each person makes a TR, I would add a link to it in the front post so all the TRs would be easily accessible in one place.
I know I'd love to read several reports so I can hear how each person's trip was different and what stood out for them.![]()
So get writing ladies!!![]()
Congrats!

Omigosh! The Tag Fairy likes me too!!!! THANK YOU Tag Fairy!!!
So excited ...so excited ...so excited......!!!!!!!!!![]()
My favorite two things were:
1. Everyone I met and had time to chat with (but so sad I missed Beth)
2. Every single minute with JD and the whole VIP experience![]()
And I just wanted to thank all the ladies that organized all the events and shirts and lanyards, and the postcard pix and photopass. Especially Lesley for the VIP tour. All the time and effort put forth was very much appreicated by me.![]()
Can't wait until next time!
LOVED the VIP tour!
House of Blues was fun, everyone was chatty and I got to know our newest Hyena a little more... Hi Sarah!![]()
I know I didn't hang out with the ladies as much, it was also our Hyena meet -- it's rare to have so many of us together!

You must have ESP- I just sent you a PM saying how I'd love to meet up! DD LOVES all the characters- except Cruella De Ville, she makes her a little nervous. I think because she's been going to DL since she was 3 months old, she's just used to them.
The short version about DXH: we separated about 3 years ago and have been legally divorced for 2 years, but we're still together. He's been living in Westwood, and basically spends the week there while he's working, and then the weekends in OC with us. It's a little confusing to other people, but it works for us!
