Hi Jamie! Ah man, that's too bad you weren't able to run into them. I know they did run into a few DISers but the parks were pretty crowded though, so I guess it's not too surprising.

We'd love to have you join us next time. :)

Once everyone gets back and settled and checks in, I think we'll start talking about a time frame for the next one.

That will actually be the hardest part of the planning so it will be nice to get that out of the way. With the first trip, it's always easy. I just picked two dates, we voted, and who ever can make it on those dates, comes.

But with the second one, everyone has met and we don't want to exclude anyone that is now a friend, so it's more challenging to find dates that work for the whole group. But we're going to sure try!! ::yes::

Okay for those of you that are back already...pick the one thing that was your very favorite during the trip. It can be a ride, a treat, an experience, whatever you want!

Being a big Disney nerd, riding on the Lilly Belle was definitely a highlight for me :)

Congrats!

I guess the Tag Fairy likes you!

It's a very appropriate tag!

Sincerely,

Tagless in Tustin

Omigosh! The Tag Fairy likes me too!!!! THANK YOU Tag Fairy!!!

So excited ...so excited ...so excited......!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

HI LADIES!!!!!

I had such a wonderful time and it was so much fun to meet all of you! I'm so excited to have some new Disney friends and hope all of you will PM me when you're in the area, since I'm local and always up for a Disney day! I am sad that I didn't get to know to EVERYONE as much as I would've liked. But now that I know who you are, hopefully we can get to know each other better on the boards. :goodvibes

I got some GREAT news yesterday. DH (actually DXH, as I explained to some of you ;) ) has confirmed that he's going to a convention in Orlando in October, and we booked everything last night! By some miracle, I talked him into doing a land and sea package, so we'll be at Animal Kingdom Lodge from Oct 5-9, and then 3 nights on the Wonder from Oct 9-12. It will be my first ever Disney Cruise, AND first time on the dining plan. I am SOOOO excited! Also, DXH (I think I'm going to keep calling him that!) booked our airfare with frequent flier miles, and was able to get us upgraded to first class without using extra points!!! I hope it all works as well as it sounds so far! Since DXH will be at the convention all day on 10/6-7 and the morning of the 8th, and it will just be dd4 and me, I'm crossing my fingers that maybe some of you will be there at that time and we can meet up!

Girls--this is off-topic, but I need HELP! I have to make my ADRs for my November WDW trip in just a few short days and I am totally bamboozled by all the choices. Some of you (Shelley for sure, and I think Mary Jo) gave me a couple of suggestions and likes/dislikes, but I need to get down to brass tacks.

Here is my thought--I am going to initially plan table service meals for lunch and dinner in two different places/parks/resorts . . . . once Disney posts EMH schedules etc and I have better idea of which park we will be in on what day then I can choose the table service meal that works for either lunch or dinner (any other meals will either be in our DVC accommodation or counter service. Or maybe I'll just eat junk food). Anyway, I think one table service meal a day is enough for us--just don't know whether to choose lunch or dinner at this time, so I'll make one for both.

the ones I've heard good things about are Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon (yes, I "know"), Kona. I would like to try a "fine dining" experience maybe at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (is it still there?) or Narcoossee's. I've heard Boma breakfast is great, and I also got a vote for Jiko. Prime Time Cafe and Sci Fi were also recommended.

I was also told to avoid CRT unless you REALLY want to eat in the castle.

It's just so overwhelming . . . but I'm sure you all hear that a lot!

So . . . other suggestions and must do's? My Mom will be celebrating her 78th birthday while we are there so someplace special for that day/night would be great. Because she is with me I would like to avoid buffets because she will be unable to get up and get her own food and it is akward because we end up not eating together. But if there is something really great (like Boma) we might try it. I also wouldn't mind a character meal (that wasn't buffet preferred).

Thanks Everyone!

I know you go through this drill often . . . .

Cheryl-

My favorites are Le Cellier, Jiko, Boma, California Grill and Kona Cafe.

I'm also excited to try Yak and Yeti, and Tutto Italia.

I'm in the same boat now trying to decide what to book for our Oct trip. Maybe we can compare notes? :thumbsup2

Okay for those of you that are back already...pick the one thing that was your very favorite during the trip. It can be a ride, a treat, an experience, whatever you want!

DEFINITELY the VIP tour! :thumbsup2 It was just so exciting for me to talk with a group of people who have as much of an interest in DL as I do! :grouphug:

I am going to need the longest vacation ever after this weekend!!!:scared1:

I did two days at DLR, then on to the Renaissance Faire to go work in the heat :rotfl2: <------ smiley isn't laughing he is convulsing from the heat :lmao:

I had an amazing time, meeting everyone, the Food and Wine fun and getting to do the VIP tour was just GREAT!!! I am so happy I did this! I am going to do a little TR later since I kind of meander off and did some fun side things.

If I had to pick just one best thing besides meeting everyone I would have to say our ride through the POTC with JD. That was so much fun!! Next would be the Lilly Belle!!!

I'm local too--so we'll have to meet up--I would love to meet your DD--she looks so cute! I love going to DL with little kids and seeing how excited they get--especially when they see the characters--is she ok with characters or one of those kids who's still a little shy? (And also I missed the story about DXH so will need to hear about that@!)

Yes, we will definitely need to compare notes--I need to make ADR's on Thursday so I need to get my rear in gear and get my list made!

Hello Ladies,

I'm glad I got to meet some of you at the House of Blues dinner. I was really happy to have met our DIS Guardian Angel- Mary Jo. :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: I didn't get the chance to talk to everyone since I was a bit nervous and shy. :flower3:

You must have ESP- I just sent you a PM saying how I'd love to meet up! DD LOVES all the characters- except Cruella De Ville, she makes her a little nervous. I think because she's been going to DL since she was 3 months old, she's just used to them.

The short version about DXH: we separated about 3 years ago and have been legally divorced for 2 years, but we're still together. He's been living in Westwood, and basically spends the week there while he's working, and then the weekends in OC with us. It's a little confusing to other people, but it works for us!

My favorite two things were:
1. Everyone I met and had time to chat with (but so sad I missed Beth)
2. Every single minute with JD and the whole VIP experience:goodvibes

And I just wanted to thank all the ladies that organized all the events and shirts and lanyards, and the postcard pix and photopass. Especially Lesley for the VIP tour. All the time and effort put forth was very much appreicated by me.;)

Can't wait until next time!

LOVED the VIP tour!
House of Blues was fun, everyone was chatty and I got to know our newest Hyena a little more... Hi Sarah! :goodvibes

I know I didn't hang out with the ladies as much, it was also our Hyena meet -- it's rare to have so many of us together!

I'm in for a seond round of ladies only meet :thumbsup2 .. by then I won't be local:upsidedow

Wow, I've got the Sound of Music song "These are a few of my favorite things", as there are so many things I loved about this weekend......

(1) Meeting and being with all the great Ladies! By far the number one thing

and then in no official order......

Riding Tower of Terror for the first time, and then riding it again with our tour and taking the cel phone picture

Dinner at Jazz Kitchen...it was fun meeting up with everyone for our first "official event", and I LOVED the food...though note to self....the Bananna Foster wonderful tableside made desert is 16.50 :scared1: I was excited that Lorealle was able to join us for that one.

Being silly at Goofy's breakfast...even though the characters could have come around alot earlier, I loved visiting and being silly with the ladies.

The VIP tour (except subtract the 40 minutes I was gone at first aid because of my thumb), especially the ToT and Pirates and Lillybelle.

Turtle Talk with Crush where Cheryl asked Crush about dating advice! :happytv:

The hard part is I want to make plans to meet up with everyone again right away, and I want to "invite myself" along to see all the ladies when they make DLR plans (like, you, Beth!).

Oh, and a couple of new DLR Ladies mottos.....(for you Amy and Stacy)...."What cute pants", "Gotta Try", and "It's All Good"!

:lmao: Well, that's good! We didn't want to have to keep calling you "drive-by girl". :rolleyes1 That'd be funny if you got stuck with that as a tag! :rotfl2:

Ugh, yep back to the real world, school, work, laundry, errands, etc.

I definitely want to get a new thread going. I was kind of waiting for everyone to check in here first and chat a little about this trip, then I thought we could start a new one and maybe we'll get some fun new ladies to join us!
The more the merrier!! :dance3:

Thanks! I sure as heck like this new one better then the grilled cheese! :lmao:

From the few I talked to about the TRs they said they were planning to do their own. I was thinking as each person makes a TR, I would add a link to it in the front post so all the TRs would be easily accessible in one place.

I know I'd love to read several reports so I can hear how each person's trip was different and what stood out for them. :yay:

So get writing ladies!! ;)

You spoke too soon! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Congrats!

I guess the Tag Fairy likes you!

It's a very appropriate tag!

lulubelle, I met your daughter yesterday. I traded a pin with her and she saw my shirt!

LOVED the VIP tour!

DD, who is 6, and I are frequently there Friday afternoons. She's in Kindergarten and by the end of the week are in need of our Disney Fix! So, if either of you want to join us, we'd love to have you. She gets so excited when we meet other people there, and especially likes younger kids.

As far as WDW, maybe I'm a freak, but I LOVED Chef Mickeys, both the dinner and brunch that we had. I was not terribly impressed with the steakhouse in the Contemporary. We always have had a great time at the Tempanyaki (I prob. butchered that one, sorry) steakhouse in Japan. I liked Alfredos the number of times we've been, and oddly enough I REALLY enjoyed the buffet at the German pavillion, but we missed the show. I haven't been myself, but have heard great things about the food in Morocco.

Hey--whatever works! My DBF just moved to Fontana (another long story) but will be spending occasional time here with me too . . . PMd you about getting together!
