Disneyland from Universal

Another annoying question........
We are going to Universal before we head to DL on the first day of our trip. What is the best way to get from Universal to DL?
Last year we took the 5 and it was total gridlock. It took us nearly 2 1/2 hours. Is there a better way? Also, we will be making this drive at about 7pm on a Friday. Are we SOL either way???!!

The 101 to the 5 is the best way to get there. You may want to stay at Universal and leave a little later than 7. Might as well window shop or check out the CityWalk than to be stuck in traffic.

Thanks. Its probably a good idea to hang out at Universal a while longer. I wonder what the check in lines will be like at the DLH at 10pm on a Friday?

I agree with all said. It took us a lot longer to get back to DL then to leave. It took us over 2 1/2 hours to get back. Window shopping is the way to go and we are going to do that the next time we go because traffic was rediculous.
